The Role

OpenTrain is hiring an Urdu Quality Assurance Lead to oversee quality, consistency, and trainer performance across Urdu AI training projects. In this remote contractor role, you will review AI-generated Urdu content along with trainer and QA submissions, evaluate work against detailed standards, provide precise written feedback, and help maintain reliable Urdu quality workflows.

This is an expert-level, part-time contract role paying $30 per hour for 20 or more hours per week. The role is open to contractors in India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

What You'll Do

You will evaluate Urdu-language AI training work and help trainers, annotators, reviewers, and QAs consistently apply project expectations. Your reviews will consider language quality as well as instruction-following, formatting, and adherence to project-specific rubrics.

• Review Urdu AI training content and trainer or QA submissions for quality and consistency.
• Evaluate work against project guidelines, style guides, and rubrics.
• Assess accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, meaning preservation, instruction-following, formatting, and rubric adherence.
• Provide clear written feedback and escalate recurring or critical quality issues.
• Communicate project updates, workflow changes, and expectations to trainers and QAs.
• Answer questions about Urdu wording, register, translation fidelity, cultural context, RTL formatting, Nastaliq script conventions, and Pakistan versus India usage.
• Create and maintain style guides, trackers, FAQs, quality notes, examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials.
• Support onboarding and training calls for trainers and QAs.
• Identify workflow improvements and help build scalable QA processes for Urdu-language projects.

Requirements

This role requires expert Urdu language judgment and the ability to assess whether content is natural, accurate, culturally appropriate, and aligned with detailed evaluation criteria. You should be comfortable explaining quality decisions clearly in English and maintaining organized documentation.

• Native or near-native Urdu proficiency with strong reading and writing skills.
• Strong English skills for project communication, guidelines, and feedback.
• Background in Urdu writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, annotation, or related language-review work.
• Strong understanding of Urdu grammar, spelling, punctuation, tone, register, cultural context, Nastaliq script conventions, and right-to-left formatting.
• Ability to judge Urdu accuracy, fluency, naturalness, cultural appropriateness, and rubric adherence.
• Strong attention to detail and organization when maintaining quality documentation.
• Comfort using Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management tools.

Helpful Background

Experience supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs is strongly preferred. Experience with AI training, data annotation, large language models, prompt or response evaluation, or rubric-based LLM QA is also helpful.

• Degree in Urdu, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
• Experience creating language-quality documentation, examples, onboarding resources, or workflow guidance.
• Experience reviewing content across Pakistan and India usage contexts.
