The Role

You will review AI-generated underpayment detection alerts, contract compliance outputs, and payment variance analyses to validate claim payments and identify systematic underpayments. Your annotated feedback and structured evaluations will be used to refine training data and improve model performance.

This is a contractor, part-time role requiring 20+ hours per week and is open to US-based contributors who are fluent in English.

What You’ll Do

Work focuses on validating AI findings and producing reconciliations and correspondence that support underpayment recovery. You will both assess model outputs for accuracy and perform hands-on contract and payment analysis.

• Review AI-generated underpayment alerts and payment variance analyses for accuracy and completeness.
• Interpret payer contract terms, fee schedules, carve-outs, OpenTrain provisions, and payment methodologies.
• Perform contract modeling and payment reconciliation to identify systematic underpayment patterns.
• Prepare underpayment claims and recovery correspondence to payers.
• Track recovery KPIs such as underpayment dollars, recovery rates, and payer response rates.
• Provide structured feedback and annotation on AI outputs to improve training datasets and model behavior.
• Support contract compliance monitoring and QA of AI-generated compliance findings.

Requirements

Candidates must bring hands-on managed care contracting and underpayment recovery experience, plus the ability to translate that expertise into structured evaluations of AI output. Clear written and verbal English communication is required.

• 5+ years of experience in underpayment recovery, payment variance analysis, or managed care contracting.
• Strong contract interpretation skills across commercial, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid managed care contracts.
• Knowledge of DRG-based, per diem, percent-of-billed charges, and fee schedule reimbursement methodologies.
• Experience with Excel-based financial analysis and revenue cycle analytics platforms.
• Familiarity with contract management systems and evaluating AI-generated outputs.
• Clear written and verbal English communication skills.

Helpful Background

• Certifications such as CHFP, CRCR, or managed care contracting credentials.
• Experience with contract management software (for example, systems like Experian Health or Recondo).
• Background in hospital, health system, or large physician group underpayment recovery operations.
• Experience presenting underpayment analyses to executive leadership.
• Comfort evaluating and providing feedback on AI-generated payment variance content.

Compensation, Tools, and How It Works

This is a US-based contractor role paying $85.00 per hour. Work is remote and part-time (20+ hours/week). Tasks are text-focused (evaluation and RLHF-style rating of AI outputs) and will use OpenTrain’s evaluation workflows.

You will be asked to annotate AI outputs, complete evaluation ratings, and submit structured feedback that becomes training data. OpenTrain provides the engagement, tracks contributions, and helps you build a professional AI training portfolio.
