About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect experienced people with meaningful projects that teach AI systems how to behave, and we help contributors build a durable freelance career in the human side of AI.

  • Work with OpenTrain AI — the hiring and contracting organization for this role.
  • Build a profile, apply quickly, and grow into more projects in healthcare AI training.

Why AI Training Matters in Healthcare

AI training (data labeling and human-feedback work) is how modern models learn to make safe, accurate, and fair decisions. In healthcare revenue cycle workflows, human review shapes how AI assists with eligibility screening, financial counseling, and patient communications—directly affecting patient access and compliance.

This role lets you apply your domain expertise to improve AI that supports charity care screening, Medicaid eligibility checks, financial assistance enrollment, and point-of-service collections.

The Role

As a Patient Financial Clearance AI Evaluator you will review AI-generated outputs used in patient financial counseling and financial clearance workflows, provide structured feedback, and help ensure recommendations and communications are accurate, compliant, and appropriate for patients.

  • Position type: Contractor, part-time.
  • Location: United States (remote).
  • Hours: 20+ hours/week.

What You'll Do

  • Review AI outputs used for patient financial counseling and financial clearance workflows.
  • Evaluate eligibility screening results, financial assistance recommendations, and patient-facing communication drafts.
  • Screen for Medicaid eligibility, charity care qualification, and financial assistance program enrollment.
  • Support quality in pre-service financial screening and point-of-service collections.
  • Provide structured feedback on AI outputs to improve healthcare revenue cycle tools.
  • Work with documentation, compliance requirements, and patient financial advocacy scenarios.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in patient financial counseling, financial clearance, or self-pay revenue cycle management.
  • At least 2 years in a leadership role overseeing financial counseling or clearance workflows.
  • Deep knowledge of charity care, financial assistance eligibility, Medicaid screening, and self-pay collections.
  • Familiarity with 501(r) requirements and hospital financial assistance policy compliance.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills and close attention to detail when reviewing financial documentation and AI outputs.

Helpful Background

  • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) or similar revenue cycle certification.
  • Experience with presumptive eligibility screening tools and Medicaid enrollment facilitation.
  • Background in hospital, health system, or federally qualified health center settings.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and patient financial education materials.

Schedule, Pay, and Labeling Details

This contract is part-time and requires a minimum of 20 hours per week. Pay is hourly at $135 USD per hour. Work is text-based evaluation and uses structured rating/feedback tasks to support RLHF-style datasets.

  • Pay type: PAY_PER_HOUR — $135/hr (USD).
  • Data type: TEXT; Label types: EVALUATION_RATING, RLHF.
  • Employment types: Contractor, Part-time.
  • Language: English required; Location: United States only.

Who Should Apply

Apply if you are an experienced patient financial counselor or revenue cycle leader who wants to shape how AI systems handle financial clearance and patient communications. This role is best for professionals who understand compliance, charity care workflows, and Medicaid screening and who can translate domain knowledge into clear, structured feedback.

  • Ideal for revenue cycle leaders wanting flexible, remote work that impacts patient access and compliance.
  • Not an entry-level task: the position requires deep domain experience and leadership background.

How to Apply

Create or sign in to your OpenTrain profile to apply. OpenTrain AI is the hiring and contracting organization for this role; applications will be reviewed for domain experience and leadership background. Selected candidates will complete a short qualification task to demonstrate evaluation skills and domain knowledge.

  • Prepare examples of your revenue cycle or financial counseling experience for review.
  • Be ready to complete a paid or unpaid qualification task if requested.
