The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking an experienced Patient Financial Services AI Reviewer to evaluate AI tools supporting self-pay revenue recovery and patient financial engagement. You will review AI-generated patient financial communication drafts, payment plan recommendations, and self-pay resolution strategies for accuracy and compliance.

The work focuses on patient collections, early-out and bad debt workflows, payment plan administration, revenue cycle strategy, and oversight of collection and payment processes. This is an expert-level contractor, part-time role for candidates in the United States, requiring 20 or more hours per week.

What You’ll Do

You will combine operational leadership experience with careful AI evaluation. Your feedback will help identify inaccurate, incomplete, or noncompliant recommendations in patient financial services workflows.

• Lead patient collections and self-pay operations, including early-out collections, bad debt management, and payment plan administration.
• Review AI-generated patient financial communication drafts, payment plan recommendations, and self-pay resolution strategies.
• Develop and implement self-pay collection strategies across pre-service, point-of-service, and post-service touchpoints.
• Coordinate with billing, financial counseling, and bad debt recovery teams to improve self-pay revenue capture.
• Monitor collection rates, conversion rates, write-off rates, patient satisfaction, and other key performance indicators.
• Support compliance with FDCPA, HIPAA, state collections laws, and internal patient financial assistance policies.

Requirements

This role requires substantial experience in patient financial services and the ability to assess both operational quality and regulatory considerations. Strong written and verbal English communication skills are essential because your evaluations and feedback will guide AI training.

• At least 5 years of experience in patient collections, self-pay revenue cycle, or patient financial services.
• At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of self-pay collection workflows and FDCPA compliance.
• Experience with early-out and bad debt collection programs, including vendor oversight.
• Experience leading patient collections, self-pay revenue cycle, or patient financial services teams.
• Deep understanding of FDCPA compliance, HIPAA, and state collections rules.
• Experience with early-out collections, bad debt management, and payment plan administration.
• Proficiency with EHR systems and patient collections or billing platforms.
• Comfort evaluating AI-generated patient financial communication content for accuracy and compliance.
• Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.
• CRCR, CHAM, or a similar revenue cycle certification is preferred.
