The Role
OpenTrain AI is seeking an expert Medical Billing AI Evaluation Manager for a part-time contractor role supporting AI evaluation in medical billing and claims management. You will review billing outputs, claim edits, and coding validations against payer requirements and billing compliance rules.
The role requires at least 20 hours per week and is open to candidates in the United States. Compensation is $80 per hour.

What You'll Do
You will evaluate AI-generated content and medical billing workflows across professional fee and facility billing environments. Your reviews and structured annotations will help improve the quality of AI training data.
Review AI-generated billing outputs, claim edits, and coding validations for accuracy and payer compliance.
Evaluate medical billing and claims submission workflows across professional fee and facility billing environments.
Assess electronic claim generation, clearinghouse edits, and payer-specific billing requirements.
Track clean claim rates, rejection rates, and first-pass acceptance rates, then help identify improvements.
Coordinate issue resolution across coding, CDI, and collections workflows.
Annotate AI outputs and provide structured feedback for training datasets.
Help refine billing standard operating procedures and payer reference guides.
Required Qualifications
This expert-level opportunity is intended for professionals with substantial medical billing and claims management experience. You should be comfortable identifying billing errors, compliance issues, and inaccuracies in AI-generated content.
At least 5 years of medical billing and claims management experience
At least 2 years of experience in a management role
Deep knowledge of CMS-1500, UB-04, HIPAA 837 transaction standards, clearinghouse operations, and payer-specific billing rules
Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer requirements
Familiarity with billing platforms such as Epic, Athenahealth, or AdvancedMD and clearinghouse tools
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
High attention to detail and comfort evaluating AI-generated billing content
Helpful Background

CPC, CCS, CHFP, or CRCR certification
