The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Thai Scientific AI Safety Evaluator to improve the safety and quality of advanced AI models. You will apply doctoral-level scientific knowledge to Thai-language model interactions, creating expert prompts and assessing whether responses are accurate, helpful, and responsible.

This is a remote, part-time contractor opportunity with a default commitment of 7 hours per week. Compensation is $24 to $28 per hour. Applicants based in Thailand or elsewhere in Southeast Asia may find the role especially relevant, and applicants from other locations are welcome.

What You'll Do

• Write expert-level prompts in Thai across specialized scientific subject areas.
• Evaluate AI-generated responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and appropriate treatment of sensitive content.
• Annotate and classify prompts and conversations using structured evaluation guidelines.
• Apply scientific safety judgment to dual-use topics and identify responses that require careful handling.
• Use laboratory and computational knowledge to distinguish reliable technical content from errors or unsafe guidance.

Requirements

You should bring advanced scientific training, strong Thai and English communication skills, and careful judgment about technical safety. Previous AI or machine learning experience is not required.

• Ongoing or completed PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related scientific field
• Native or near-native Thai fluency and business-level written English
• Deep familiarity with modern laboratory or computational techniques in a specialized subfield
• Ability to write precise technical prompts and assess scientific reasoning in Thai
• Sound judgment regarding scientific safety, dual-use information, and responsible communication

Helpful Background

Experience in one or more specialized scientific areas can help you evaluate nuanced model behavior and technical reasoning. Research or coursework involving safety, security, or hazardous materials is also relevant.

• Radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, energetic materials, or radiation physics
• Molecular biology, microbiology, virology, or genetics
• Organic synthesis or inorganic synthesis
• Chemical safety and security, biosafety, biosecurity, or hazardous-materials handling
• Reviewing, grading, or red-teaming technical content
