About AI training and why this work matters
AI training (data labeling and human feedback) is the human side of building language technology. Recorded speech from native speakers teaches models how people speak, pronounce words, and use natural phrasing — especially in underrepresented languages like Telugu.
This work is remote-friendly and flexible, and it directly influences how voice assistants, transcription tools, and language models understand and generate Telugu.
The role
As a Telugu Audio Recording Expert you will create professional-grade audio samples — both scripted and unscripted — that train language AI systems in Telugu. Your recordings must be clear, natural, and technically consistent with project specifications.
This is a contractor, part-time role with an expected commitment of 20+ hours per week. Work is remote and can be performed from anywhere.
What you'll do
Record clear, professional-grade Telugu audio following detailed project guidelines and prompts.
Produce both scripted sentences and natural, unscripted utterances in standard Telugu with natural tone and pronunciation.
Use professional audio equipment and software to capture high-fidelity recordings with minimal background noise.
Edit and review submitted files to meet technical and linguistic quality benchmarks.
Collaborate with remote project teams through written and verbal communication to clarify requirements and implement feedback.
Requirements (must-have)
Candidates invited to interview must be able to demonstrate the listed requirements during the OpenTrain interview process.
Native-level fluency in Telugu with clear, accurate pronunciation.
Minimum three years of professional experience in audio recording, voiceover, or related audio production.
Proficiency operating professional audio recording equipment and editing software.
Access to and ability to use professional audio recording equipment capable of producing broadcast-quality files.
Strong attention to detail in capturing, editing, and delivering audio that meets project specifications.
Excellent written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.
Helpful background (nice to have)
Experience contributing audio data to research, media, or technology projects.
A portfolio or samples of high-quality Telugu audio or voiceover work available for review.
Compensation, schedule, and logistics
Compensation range: $10–$30 per hour (PAY_PER_HOUR). Typical assignments require a regular weekly commitment of 20+ hours. Employment types: contractor, part-time.
Work is 100% remote and open worldwide; you must be able to record and deliver files that meet technical specifications and deadlines.
How to apply and interview process
Apply through your OpenTrain AI profile. Selected applicants will complete a short recorded sample and a live or recorded demonstration during the OpenTrain interview to verify language fluency and technical skill.
During the interview you must demonstrate native Telugu proficiency, three years of relevant recording experience, and competency using professional recording equipment and software.
Prepare a short portfolio of Telugu recordings (scripted and unscripted) to share if available.
Be ready to record a test set under project conditions and accept written feedback for revisions.
