AI training (also called data labeling or annotation) is the human work that helps modern AI learn. Contributors prepare and review language examples—transcribing audio, translating content, annotating tone and speaker information—so models understand real-world language.
This role focuses on Tatar-language audio and related materials. Your work will directly shape how multilingual AI models transcribe, translate, and interpret Tatar speech and nuance.
You will be a contractor on part-time assignments to transcribe, translate, analyze, and annotate Tatar audio and video for AI training datasets. Tasks combine precise transcription, contextual translation into English, linguistic analysis, and documentation to improve dataset quality.
Your day-to-day work is hands-on language annotation: accurately converting spoken Tatar into text, marking speaker turns and timestamps, translating content to English with attention to context, and annotating emotional or tonal nuance where present. You will also produce clear task documentation and provide detailed feedback to improve data quality.
All listed requirements come from the project brief and are required for successful applicants.
These qualifications are not required but will help you succeed and move into higher-responsibility tasks.
Compensation is hourly; pay varies by assignment. The posted range is $15–$95 per hour, with opportunities up to $95/hr depending on task complexity and expertise. Work is remote and scheduled around your availability, but you must be located in the United States and able to commit 20+ hours weekly.
OpenTrain AI is the hiring and contracting organization for this role. To apply, create a free OpenTrain account, complete your profile (languages and relevant experience), and submit your application for this project. Qualified applicants may be asked to complete a short sample task or screening to demonstrate transcription and translation accuracy.
If selected, you'll receive project instructions, annotation guidelines, and access to the annotation tools required for the work. Provide thoughtful feedback to help improve dataset quality as part of your role.
