The work

You will design and evaluate structured tasks that test how AI systems reason about real-world structural engineering problems. Each task should have a clear problem statement, a trusted reference solution, and a deterministic checker that can assess whether an answer is technically sound.

You will use engineering judgment to review AI-generated responses, check their accuracy against relevant standards, and provide structured feedback. The work is independent and asynchronous on a flexible schedule.

• Create tasks covering structural analysis, seismic design, pushover analysis, finite element modeling, reinforced concrete design, steel connection detailing, and structural retrofit.
• Write precise engineering problems that test reasoning about structural behavior.
• Develop reference solutions and deterministic scoring checkers.
• Evaluate AI responses for engineering accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
• Use OpenSees, ETABS, SAP2000, and relevant structural design codes.

What it pays and takes

This is a remote, flexible hourly contract for an individual structural engineering specialist. The role is listed as entry level, but it requires a relevant degree and applied experience with structural analysis and design.

• Pay: $80-$110 per hour.
