The Role

OpenTrain is hiring a Spanish Voice Recording Specialist focused on text-to-speech (TTS) voice cloning and model evaluation. This is a part-time contractor role for contributors based in Spain; expected commitment is 5–10 hours per week.

• Pay: $50 USD per hour

What You'll Do

• Record high-quality voice samples for TTS model training and evaluation
• Read conversational, narrative, and instructional scripts with natural delivery
• Keep voice, accent, tone, pacing, and pronunciation consistent across sessions
• Provide alternate takes with variations in emotion, emphasis, and delivery
• Follow recording guidelines for environment, microphone setup, and file formatting

Requirements

You must meet all required qualifications below to be considered. This role expects clear, consistent, and professional recordings suitable for voice cloning and model training.

• Native Castilian or Peninsular Spanish accent
• Professional experience in voice acting, dubbing, narration, podcasting, or broadcasting
• Access to a professional or near-professional recording setup (quiet space, good microphone)
• Strong intonation, clear diction, and a wide emotional range
• Comfort with voice cloning and speech synthesis use cases
• Availability for 5–10 hours per week

Helpful Background & Tools

• Previous recording work for TTS, audiobooks, IVR systems, or AI voice datasets
• Familiarity with audio tools such as Audacity, Adobe Audition, or Reaper
• Ability to deliver multiple vocal styles (conversational, corporate, energetic, calm)

How It Works & How To Apply

This role is contracted through OpenTrain: you will be engaged as a part-time contractor and paid $50/hour for recorded session work. Expected weekly time is under 20 hours, typically 5–10 hours per week.
