The Role
OpenTrain is hiring a Spanish (Spain) Audio Transcriptionist for a fully remote, hourly contractor position. You will transcribe authentic Peninsular Spanish recordings for AI training, including conversations with natural speech, multiple speakers, crosstalk, overlapping dialogue, filled pauses, and background noise.
This is an entry-level opportunity requiring at least 20 hours per week. Scheduling is flexible, and assignments can be completed independently and asynchronously.

What You'll Do
You will turn imperfect, real-world audio into clean, consistent, verbatim text while following detailed transcription guidelines. Accuracy, careful listening, and consistent formatting are central to the work.
Listen to audio recordings in Peninsular Spanish and create verbatim transcriptions.
Handle noise, fast speech, crosstalk, overlapping speakers, and filled pauses.
Identify and differentiate multiple speakers in a single recording.
Apply formatting for timestamps, speaker labels, non-verbal sounds, and unclear segments.
Flag unintelligible or ambiguous audio according to established protocols.
Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail across assignments.
Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule.
Requirements
You should have a native or near-native command of Spain Spanish, including an intuitive understanding of Castilian vocabulary, expressions, accents, and speech patterns. Strong written Spanish and exceptional listening skills are essential.
The role requires a methodical approach to repetitive work and the ability to follow detailed style guides and formatting rules precisely.
