The role

We’re hiring a remote Creative Writer fluent in Spanish (Mexico/Chile variants) to produce and refine chatbot dialogue used to train large language models. You will generate authentic, culturally relevant responses from prompts and edit model outputs to improve clarity, accuracy, and naturalness.

This is a contract, part-time opportunity. You’ll work remotely and independently on writing tasks for LLM training and evaluation.

• Time commitment: Minimum 10 hours/week, preferred 20+ hours/week
• Pay: $8.21 USD per hour

What you’ll do

Work with prompt-response writing and editing tasks that teach chatbots how to produce fluent, context-appropriate Spanish across Mexican and Chilean dialects.

• Write original chatbot responses from given prompts (prompt-response writing / SFT).
• Rewrite or improve AI-generated text for tone, clarity, and cultural fit.
• Answer question-answering and text summarization tasks in Spanish.
• Follow project guidelines and feedback to maintain consistent quality and style.

Requirements

Your application must demonstrate strong Spanish writing and editing skills and familiarity with regional nuance for Mexico and Chile. The list below reflects what we will evaluate during screening and the interview.

• Spanish writing experience: Extensive creative or content writing in Spanish; 5+ years preferred.
• Experience with data-labeling writing tasks is highly preferred — experience writing responses on data-labeling platforms (including OpenTrain) is a plus.
• Portfolio: Links or descriptions of published Spanish work are preferred but not required.
• Basic English comprehension to follow instructions and communicate with the team.
• Familiarity with AI chatbot tools (e.g., ChatGPT) is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong editing, proofreading, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Education: Currently pursuing or completed a Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred; please share highest level of education in your application.

Interview and qualification test

The interview includes questions about your writing experience and platform experience. At the end of the interview you will complete a short practical test: questions will be provided in English and Spanish, and you must respond in Spanish. Your test responses strongly inform your qualification score.

• During the interview you will be asked how many years/months of experience you have performing writing tasks on data-labeling platforms, and to provide a portfolio link or descriptions of published works if available.
