The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking an intermediate-level Spanish Creative Writer for a remote, part-time contract role focused on LLM chatbot training. You will generate authentic, culturally relevant responses to prompts and improve AI-generated text for accuracy, clarity, engagement, and natural language quality.

The role focuses on Spanish, with particular attention to Mexican and Chilean language use and regional nuances. Work may include prompt-response writing, question answering, text generation, and text summarization.

The rate is $8.21 USD per hour. The position is open to contractors located in Mexico or Chile, with a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week and a preferred commitment of 20 or more hours per week.

What You'll Do

You will help shape conversational AI by writing and refining Spanish-language examples. The work requires strong creative judgment, precise editing, and the ability to express complex ideas in clear, understandable language.

Your contributions will support training data quality and help conversational models respond in ways that feel accurate, engaging, and culturally appropriate.

• Write original responses to prompts and questions in Spanish
• Create vivid, authentic, and culturally relevant dialogue
• Generate Spanish content in different writing styles
• Edit and proofread AI-generated text for grammar, clarity, and accuracy
• Improve the quality and usefulness of chatbot responses
• Apply Mexican and Chilean regional language awareness
• Assess and improve training data quality using analytical thinking
• Break down complex ideas into simple, understandable content

Requirements and Preferred Qualifications

Candidates should have a strong command of written Spanish, including excellent grammar and the ability to write across varied styles. More than five years of creative writing or Spanish content-creation experience is preferred, but substantial writing experience may also be considered.

Previous experience performing writing tasks for AI or LLM training platforms is highly preferred. Experience specifically writing responses to prompts or questions is more relevant to this role than experience limited to rating or evaluating responses.

A portfolio of published Spanish-language work, whether online or in print, is preferred but not required. Experience with chatbot tools such as ChatGPT is an advantage, but it is not essential.

Interview and Spanish Writing Assessment

During the interview, you may be asked about your highest level of education, the amount of experience you have writing responses to prompts on AI training or data-labeling platforms, and any published Spanish writing work. If you do not have portfolio links, be prepared to describe your work.

The interview concludes with a short assessment. Questions are provided in English and Spanish, and you must respond in Spanish. This assessment is designed to evaluate how precisely and creatively you understand and answer Spanish-language prompts.

• Describe a unique, vivid character in Spanish using creative language and at least two distinctive traits
• Write a short Spanish email to your supervisor requesting feedback on a Quarterly Financial Report, focusing on data analysis and presentation style
• Write a concise Spanish email persuading an introverted friend to become a guest speaker at a local event
