The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking an Italian Creative Writer for a remote contract role focused on AI chatbot training. You will craft and refine dialogue, generate responses to prompts, and improve AI-generated texts so they feel natural and culturally relevant to Italian-speaking users.

The role is suited to an experienced Italian writer who understands different writing styles, regional nuances, and the importance of precise, engaging language. The position is listed as less than 20 hours per week, with a minimum commitment of 10 hours and a preferred commitment of 20 or more hours where feasible.

What You'll Do

You will complete a variety of Italian writing and editing tasks that support the training of large language models and conversational AI systems. Strong judgment, creativity, and attention to linguistic detail will be important throughout the work.

• Generate authentic and culturally relevant responses to prompts
• Write answers and dialogue for AI chatbot training
• Create and refine Italian text in multiple writing styles
• Improve the accuracy, quality, and engagement of AI-generated content
• Edit and proofread text carefully for grammar and clarity
• Apply knowledge of Italian dialects and regional nuances
• Complete text generation, question answering, summarization, and supervised response-writing tasks

Requirements and Preferred Qualifications

Candidates should have a strong command of written Italian and enough English to follow instructions and communicate effectively with the team. More than five years of experience in Italian creative writing or content creation is preferred, although substantial writing experience may also be considered.

Prior experience writing responses to prompts for AI or data-labeling projects is highly preferred. Experience rating or evaluating responses is less directly relevant than experience actually writing responses. Experience using AI chatbot tools is an advantage but is not required.

A portfolio of published Italian writing, either online or in print, is preferred but not required. Applicants without links may describe their published work during the interview.

• Strong written Italian, grammar, and stylistic range

• AI chatbot experience is helpful but not essential

Interview and Italian Writing Assessment

The interview will ask about your experience writing responses to prompts for AI or data-labeling projects, including the length of that experience. You may also be asked about your Italian writing background, portfolio, and education.

At the end of the interview, you will complete a short assessment. Questions will be provided in English and Italian, and your responses must be written in Italian. The assessment is designed to evaluate precise understanding, creative ability, professional writing, and persuasive communication.

• Describe a unique and lively character using creative Italian and at least two distinctive traits
• Write a brief Italian email requesting feedback from a supervisor on a quarterly financial report, focusing on data analysis and presentation style
• Write a concise Italian email persuading an introverted friend to speak at a local event, highlighting two benefits and addressing a possible concern
