The Role — What We're Hiring

We are seeking a skilled Italian Creative Writer to produce and refine chatbot dialogue and other conversational content for LLM training. This is a remote contract position with flexible scheduling.

Compensation: $28 USD per hour. Minimum commitment: 10 hours per week; project assignments are typically under 20 hours/week, though candidates who can commit 20+ hours are preferred when available. Employment types: Contractor, Part-time.

What You'll Do Day to Day

You will write authentic, culturally appropriate responses to prompts, edit AI-generated text to improve clarity and tone, and craft examples that teach models to handle regional and dialectal variation in Italian.

• Generate conversational responses and prompt-based content in Italian (SFT-style prompt/response writing).
• Edit and improve model outputs for fluency, correctness, and cultural relevance.
• Create varied examples to teach tone, register, and pragmatic behavior across contexts.
• Perform text summarization and question-answering tasks in Italian as required by project prompts.

Requirements

You must be a strong written Italian communicator with demonstrable creative writing or content creation experience. The role values real-world writing ability and careful editing skills.

• Preferred: 5+ years of creative or content writing in Italian; substantial experience will score highly in qualifications.
• Preferred: prior experience performing writing tasks on data-labeling or AI-training platforms (experience with OpenTrain AI is a plus).
• Portfolio of published Italian writing is preferred but not required; be prepared to share links or descriptions of your work.
• Basic understanding of English to follow written instructions and communicate with the project team.
• Editing and proofreading skills with excellent Italian grammar and style.
• Familiarity with AI chatbot tools (e.g., large conversational models) is an advantage but not mandatory.

Interview And Qualification Test

During the interview we will ask about your experience writing on data-labeling platforms, your years of Italian writing experience, and your highest level of education. The interview includes a short written test in which prompts are given in English and Italian but must be answered in Italian.

• Test Question 1 — Describe a Character: Italian prompt: "Descrivi brevemente un personaggio unico e vivace usando un linguaggio creativo. La tua descrizione dovrebbe includere almeno due tratti distintivi."
• Test Question 2 — Draft a Professional Email: Italian prompt: "Scrivi una breve email al tuo supervisore chiedendo feedback sul 'Rapporto Finanziario Trimestrale' che hai preparato. Concentrati sulla richiesta di analisi dei dati e sullo stile di presentazione."
• Test Question 3 — Write a Persuasive Email: Italian prompt: "Redigi un'email concisa per convincere un amico introverso a partecipare come relatore ospite a un evento locale. Evidenzia due benefici della partecipazione e affronta una preoccupazione potenziale che potrebbero avere."
