The Role

OpenTrain is hiring a Romanian Quality Assurance Lead to oversee quality and consistency across Romanian AI training projects. You will review AI-generated Romanian content and trainer QA work against detailed rubrics, provide precise feedback, and help maintain standards for language accuracy and instruction-following.

The role also includes communicating quality updates, supporting onboarding, maintaining Romanian project documentation, and identifying recurring issues so Romanian-language workflows improve over time.

• Remote contractor position based in Romania
• Part-time work requiring 20+ hours per week
• Hourly pay up to $25
• Intermediate experience level
• Work with Romanian and English language content

What You’ll Do

You will combine detailed Romanian language review with contributor support and process coordination. Your feedback will help trainers and QAs apply project standards consistently across AI training work.

• Review Romanian AI training content and trainer QA work for quality and rubric adherence
• Identify issues in grammar, spelling, tone, diacritics, terminology, fluency, and cultural appropriateness
• Evaluate mistranslation, literal phrasing, unnatural tone, incorrect diacritics, hallucinated claims, ambiguity, and inconsistent terminology
• Provide precise written feedback and escalate recurring or critical quality issues
• Communicate project updates to trainers and QAs
• Maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, quality notes, examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials
• Support onboarding and training calls for trainers and QAs
• Help manage contributor activation and workflow consistency
• Contribute to process improvements for Romanian-language QA work

Requirements

This role requires strong Romanian language judgment, careful attention to detail, and the ability to apply detailed evaluation standards consistently. You should be comfortable explaining quality decisions in English while coordinating with remote teams.

• Native or near-native Romanian proficiency with strong reading and writing skills
• Strong English communication skills for guidelines and team coordination
• Experience in Romanian writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, annotation, or related language-review workflows
• Strong understanding of Romanian grammar, spelling, punctuation, diacritics, tone, register, regional usage, and cultural context
• Ability to evaluate Romanian content against detailed rubrics
• Experience working with remote teams and tools such as Discord, Google Sheets, and Google Docs

• Degree in Romanian, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or a related field
• Experience leading or supporting trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs
• Experience with AI training, data annotation, large language models, prompt or response evaluation, or rubric-based LLM QA
