About OpenTrain AI

OpenTrain AI is the hiring organization for this role. OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling — a place where people start and grow careers teaching AI.

We connect contributors to real, paid projects that help shape how modern AI systems behave. If you want flexible, remote work that directly influences state-of-the-art models, this is the kind of work OpenTrain supports.

About AI Training Work (Why voice matters)

AI training is the human side of building intelligence: people provide the examples, corrections, and recorded speech that models learn from. Voice actors and narrators are essential to training systems that understand natural speech, produce lifelike audio, and interpret tone and pacing.

This role gives you the chance to contribute to cutting-edge voice datasets while working remotely on a contractor, part-time basis — often with flexible scheduling and repeat opportunities based on performance.

The Role

You will record scripted lines provided by OpenTrain AI, following detailed instructions about tone, pacing, and pronunciation. Deliverables are clean, high-quality audio files, produced in a quiet, controlled environment and formatted as requested.

This is an entry-level contractor role with a typical commitment of 20+ hours per week. Ongoing work may be offered based on your performance and project needs.

What You'll Do

Produce professional-grade voice recordings from scripts and direction supplied by the project team.

Follow precise instructions about tone, speed, emphasis, and pronunciation; maintain a consistent voice across sessions.

Deliver properly formatted, noise-free audio files using the required internal tooling.

  • Record scripted lines exactly as instructed, matching tone and pacing.
  • Deliver clean, properly formatted audio files (per project specifications).
  • Use OpenTrain AI’s internal proprietary tooling for submission and file management.
  • Maintain consistent voice quality across sessions and follow feedback for revisions.

Requirements

You must have reliable access to professional recording equipment and a quiet recording environment. Fluency in English is required.

Previous voice acting, narration, or familiarity with remote audio workflows is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Access to a professional condenser microphone and an audio interface (required).
  • A quiet, controlled recording space with minimal background noise.
  • Clear, consistent, and natural spoken delivery; fluent English proficiency required.
  • Ability to follow detailed directions about tone, pacing, and pronunciation.
  • Entry-level eligibility is acceptable; prior professional experience is a plus.

Compensation, Hours, and Contract

Pay is hourly at USD 50 per hour, with an advertised range of $40–$60 per hour. This is a contract, part-time role with a minimum expected commitment of 20+ hours per week.

Ongoing assignments may be offered based on individual performance and project demand.

  • Payment type: Pay per hour (USD 50/hr; range $40–$60).
  • Employment type: Contractor, Part-time.
  • Time requirement: 20+ hours/week.

How It Works / How To Apply

Create an OpenTrain account and submit your application as directed on the platform. Include any voice reels or sample links you have to help showcase your delivery style (optional).

If selected, you'll record scripts according to project instructions and submit files via OpenTrain AI’s internal proprietary tooling. Feedback and revisions may be requested to meet quality standards.

  • Submit through OpenTrain with resume and optional voice samples.
  • Work remotely and manage your schedule within the 20+ hours/week expectation.
  • Successful contributors may receive repeat opportunities based on quality and reliability.
