The Role
OpenTrain is seeking a Polish-speaking STEM scientist to evaluate and improve advanced AI model behavior on specialized scientific topics. You will write expert prompts in Polish and assess model responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and responsible handling of sensitive information.
The work may focus on a specialized area such as organic or inorganic synthesis, molecular biology, microbiology, virology, genetics, radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, energetic materials, or radiation physics.
Remote freelance contractor opportunity
Default commitment of approximately 7 hours per week
Compensation of $50-$54 per hour
Eastern Europe preferred, but applicants may work from anywhere
Prior AI or machine learning experience is not required
What You’ll Do
You will use structured evaluation guidelines and specialized scientific knowledge to review prompts, conversations, and generated responses. The role requires careful reasoning about laboratory practice, scientific safety, and the boundaries of responsible technical assistance.
Write expert-level prompts in Polish across specialized scientific topics
Evaluate responses for scientific accuracy and usefulness
Assess whether sensitive or dual-use information is handled responsibly
Annotate responses using structured evaluation guidelines

Requirements
An ongoing or completed PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related scientific field is required. Candidates should bring deep familiarity with modern laboratory or computational techniques in a scientific subfield and the ability to evaluate technical content with precision.
Native or near-native Polish fluency and business-level written English are required. You should also have sound judgment when working with chemical safety, biosafety, biosecurity, hazardous-materials handling, or other dual-use scientific information.
