About OpenTrain
OpenTrain is the centralized, open platform where AI training and data-labeling freelancers find work, consolidate opportunities across platforms, and build a unified AI training portfolio they control. We make specialized AI training work easier to track, apply for, and grow into a durable freelance career.

About this role
OpenTrain is recruiting for an Indonesian STEM AI Safety Evaluator to help improve the safety and quality of advanced AI models. You will apply scientific expertise to prompts and responses involving specialized technical topics in Indonesian, with particular relevance to chemistry, biology, and related scientific fields. The work combines expert prompt writing, scientific evaluation, structured classification, and careful judgment around sensitive or dual-use information.

What you will do
Write expert-level prompts in Indonesian across specialized scientific topics. Evaluate and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and appropriate handling of sensitive content. Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations. Use knowledge of laboratory and computational techniques to assess technical content and support safer model behavior across chemical, biological, and related scientific subject areas.

Required skills
You should be pursuing or have completed a PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field, with the depth to write prompts across chemical, biological, or radiological and nuclear subject areas. Native or near-native Indonesian fluency and business-level written English are required. You should have deep familiarity with modern laboratory and computational techniques in a scientific subfield, along with sound judgment regarding scientific safety and responsible handling of dual-use information. Relevant depth may include organic or inorganic synthesis, molecular biology, microbiology, virology, genetics, radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, energetic materials, or radiation physics. Prior AI or machine-learning experience is not required; training is provided on the workflow.

Helpful background
Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming technical content is helpful. Background in chemical safety and security, biosafety and biosecurity, hazardous-materials handling, or radiological and nuclear topics can also support this work. Applicants based in Indonesia or the wider Southeast Asia region are preferred, while applicants based elsewhere are welcome.

Why work with OpenTrain
OpenTrain gives freelancers one place to manage AI training opportunities instead of rebuilding proof of work on every platform. A stronger OpenTrain profile helps you show credible experience, discover roles that match your skills, and turn AI training and data-labeling work into a long-term portfolio.
