OpenTrain is the #1 platform for building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect people with projects that teach AI how to behave, helping contributors grow from first tasks to repeat work across the industry.
OpenTrain supports flexible, remote work and is focused on helping contributors find meaningful, paid opportunities where their expertise directly improves real AI systems.
- Free to join and create a profile to discover projects.
- Work remotely and build experience that shapes modern AI systems.
Why AI Training Work Matters
AI training (data labeling / human feedback) is the human foundation behind modern AI: people annotate, review, and critique examples so models learn correct, safe, and useful behavior.
This role puts you on the cutting edge of how AI writes and explains code — your feedback will improve accuracy, security, and usability for developer-facing AI outputs.
- Flexible, mostly part-time work you can do remotely.
- Direct impact on the quality of AI-generated developer assistance.
The Role
We are hiring PHP (Laravel) developers to evaluate AI-generated prompts, code snippets, and explanations related to Laravel. You will label, categorize, and assess AI outputs for correctness, efficiency, security, and adherence to Laravel best practices.
This is a contractor, part-time role (less than 20 hours/week) with pay at $15 per hour. Work is worldwide and fully remote; the role emphasizes precise, structured feedback in clear written English.
- Review AI-generated Laravel code and explanations for accuracy and best practices.
- Provide structured corrective feedback and suggest improvements for security and performance.
What You'll Do Day-to-Day
Analyze AI-generated Laravel implementations for correctness, performance, security, and maintainability. Identify bugs, inefficient queries, insecure patterns, and poor adherence to framework conventions.
Label and categorize responses using provided schemas, write concise corrections and improvement suggestions, and document the reasoning behind each assessment so model trainers and engineers can act on your feedback.
- Evaluate controller, model, and view code (MVC patterns, Eloquent usage, Blade templates).
- Assess API development, authentication flows, middleware, service providers, and event handling.
- Flag security issues (SQL injection, XSS, CSRF) and recommend mitigations.
- Suggest database optimizations and performance tuning for Eloquent and queries.
Requirements
You must have hands-on Laravel experience and be able to demonstrate real-world work. Strong English writing skills are required because assessments must be structured, clear, and actionable.
We preserve the role’s substantive requirements exactly: candidates should meet the technical experience below and be comfortable performing structured labeling and critique of AI-generated developer content.
- 5+ years hands-on experience with PHP and Laravel (MVC, Eloquent, Blade, auth systems).
- Expertise in Laravel best practices, database optimization, security implementations, and performance tuning.
- Proven ability to debug Laravel code, optimize queries, and harden applications against common web vulnerabilities.
- Strong written English and ability to provide clear, structured feedback.
- Availability to work part-time (under 20 hours/week) as a contractor; worldwide remote applicants welcome.
How We'll Assess You
Candidates will complete a technical screening that verifies hands-on Laravel experience, debugging ability, and evaluation skills. The assessment focuses on practical, real-world problem solving rather than theory.
Expect code snippets to debug, AI-generated statements to correct, and exercises asking you to explain optimizations and security improvements in plain language.
- Experience assessment: describe real Laravel projects, your role, and concrete outcomes.
- Technical knowledge check: identify and fix bugs in sample code and explain security implications.
- AI evaluation tasks: assess AI-generated claims and implementations, provide corrections and rationale.
- Communication check: explain Laravel concepts simply and clearly for non-expert audiences.
Logistics, Pay, and How to Apply
This is a contractor, part-time role paid at $15 per hour. The expected commitment is less than 20 hours per week and work is fully remote. You will use supplied labeling tools and follow the project’s annotation guidelines.
To apply, submit a résumé/CV and brief examples of Laravel work or links to projects. Be prepared to complete the technical screening described above.
- Employment type: Contractor, Part-time.
