About AI training and why this work matters
AI training is the human side of building intelligent systems: people create, review, and refine the examples models learn from. That includes evaluating code examples, grading explanations, and improving model outputs so developers receive correct, secure, and maintainable guidance.
Contributors gain flexible, remote work and the chance to influence state‑of‑the‑art tools while applying real-world domain expertise.
The Role
We are hiring an experienced Laravel developer to evaluate AI-generated Laravel prompts, code, and explanations, and to act as a structured technical interviewer for other candidates. You will judge accuracy, security, performance, and adherence to Laravel best practices, and produce clear, actionable feedback.
This is a contractor, part‑time position (less than 20 hours per week), paid at $20 USD per hour, open to contributors worldwide who can write excellent English.
Position type: Contractor, part‑time (Less than 20 hrs/week)
Pay: $20 USD per hour

What you'll do
Review AI-generated Laravel prompts and responses to verify correctness, functionality, maintainability, and security. Provide structured critiques and suggested fixes.
Conduct short, structured technical interviews that assess candidates’ Laravel knowledge and their ability to evaluate AI-produced code and explanations.
Check syntax correctness, Eloquent usage, Blade templates, routing, middleware, and API design.
Assess performance, database query efficiency, caching and queue usage, and security best practices.
Identify missing context, inaccuracies, or misleading explanations in AI responses and produce improved rewrites.
Write clear, concise code review comments and beginner-friendly explanations of complex concepts.
Requirements
You must have strong hands-on Laravel experience and excellent English writing skills to provide clear, structured feedback. Preserve the standards below when applying — these are required for the role.
Minimum 5+ years hands-on experience with Laravel framework and ecosystem.
Deep knowledge of Laravel architecture, Eloquent ORM, Blade templating, routing, middleware, and API development.
Solid understanding of Laravel best practices for security, performance optimization, and maintainability.
Experience with code reviews, debugging, and writing clear technical documentation or feedback.
Excellent English writing and communication skills — able to produce structured, actionable comments and explanations.
Evaluation criteria & interview flow
You will follow a structured interviewer script that checks technical depth, critical thinking, and communication clarity. The assessment focuses on three areas: technical proficiency with Laravel, ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code and explanations, and the clarity of candidate feedback.
Typical interview tasks include asking about past Laravel projects, testing knowledge of Eloquent, Blade, middleware, caching, and routing, presenting code snippets for diagnosis, assessing AI responses, and requesting improved rewrites or review comments.
Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate deep Laravel knowledge and practical problem-solving.
Critical Thinking: Accurately identify issues in AI outputs and suggest robust improvements.
Communication Clarity: Provide concise, well-structured explanations suitable for both peers and beginners.
