The Role
OpenTrain is seeking a People Operations AI Training Expert to help fine-tune large language models with practical Human Resources expertise. You will evaluate and refine AI-generated HR tools, grounding their outputs in accurate requisition-to-hire processes, headcount planning, compensation structures, leave policies, onboarding workflows, and organizational practices.
The work combines People Operations judgment with structured AI evaluation, spreadsheet logic, and quality control. This is a remote, part-time contractor opportunity requiring 20 or more hours per week.

What You'll Do
You will define discovery parameters and guardrails for HR planning and tracking tools. You will also validate context materials, test formulas and definitions, and assess whether AI-generated deliverables align with real-world People Operations standards.
A central part of the role is translating complex HR policies into deterministic spreadsheet formulas and validation constraints that AI-generated tools can apply consistently.
Define parameters and guardrails for requisitions, headcount, compensation bands, PTO accrual, leave carryover, and exempt or non-exempt distinctions.
Validate organizational charts, requisition lists, PTO ledgers, and other context materials.
Review peer deliverables and approve work that meets professional People Operations standards.
Convert HR policies into spreadsheet formulas, KPI definitions, and validation rules.
Required Experience and Skills
You should bring at least five years of experience in HR, People Operations, Talent Acquisition, or an HR Business Partner role. Deep practical familiarity with core HR systems and processes is required, along with the ability to express policy clearly through structured logic.
