About OpenTrain AI

OpenTrain AI is the leading platform for people building careers in AI training and data labeling. We help contributors find projects, grow a unified portfolio, and work on the human side of AI — the examples, reviews, and feedback that teach models to perform reliably.

Why AI training matters (brief)

AI training is how modern models learn: people prepare, evaluate, and correct examples so systems behave safely and usefully. This work is highly remote-friendly, often flexible and part-time, and offers direct impact on how state-of-the-art AI understands technical domains like software engineering.

The role

You will be a remote contractor working with OpenTrain AI to evaluate and improve model outputs focused on .NET and C# engineering topics. This is an entry-level friendly technical reviewer role for practitioners who can read, write, and critique code and architecture guidance, and who understand cloud integrations on AWS and Azure.

  • Employment type: Contractor, Part-time
  • Time commitment: 20+ hours per week
  • Work mode: Fully remote, worldwide (English)
  • Data type: Text — evaluation and text-generation tasks

What you'll do day to day

  • Review and rate AI model outputs about .NET, C#, AWS, and Azure for technical accuracy and usefulness.
  • Write, edit, and optimize code snippets and small example programs in C# and .NET.
  • Improve architectural diagrams and technical documentation used for model training.
  • Provide pragmatic backend engineering guidance: scalable design, cloud integration, and modern app patterns.
  • Explain technical concepts clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Identify gaps in model understanding and suggest concrete corrections and stronger real-world solutions.

Requirements

  • Extensive hands-on production experience with .NET and C#.
  • Working knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud platforms and common cloud patterns.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting and collaborate with distributed teams.
  • Up-to-date familiarity with industry tools, frameworks, and standards in the .NET ecosystem.
  • Availability to commit 20+ hours per week as a contractor.

Helpful background (not required)

  • Prior experience contributing to AI, machine learning, or data-driven projects.
  • Experience on large-scale distributed cloud applications and working with distributed teams.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in .NET environments.

Compensation, workflow, and next steps

This contract role pays per hour; the posted range is USD $30–$90/hr. You will perform evaluation and text-generation tasks (rating, editing, and creating small code examples and guidance) using OpenTrain’s platform and instructions. OpenTrain AI is the contracting organization and will manage onboarding, task assignments, and payments.

  • Pay: Hourly (USD), posted range $30–$90/hr.
  • Tasks include evaluation ratings and text/code generation for training data.
  • Onboarding includes brief training and sample tasks to align on quality expectations.
  • Apply with a summary of your .NET/C# experience and availability (hours/week).

Who should apply

Apply if you have real production experience building .NET/C# systems, understand cloud architectures on AWS/Azure, and enjoy explaining technical solutions clearly. This role is a great fit for engineers seeking flexible, remote part-time work that directly shapes how AI systems learn to reason about software engineering.
