The Role

OpenTrain AI is hiring an expert C++ AI Code Review Engineer to support AI training work focused on C++ code review and evaluation. You will review AI-generated C++ code, systems designs, and technical explanations, then produce reference implementations and step-by-step reasoning for complex engineering problems.

You will assess solutions for accuracy, clarity, safety, prompt adherence, logic, memory handling, concurrency, and performance. You will also fact-check technical details and compare multiple model responses for correctness and reasoning quality.

• Hourly pay of $40-$65, with estimated project earnings of $6,400-$10,400 based on the schedule and duration shown on OpenTrain

What You'll Do

You will work from project guidelines and source materials to produce consistent, technically rigorous evaluations. Strong performance requires careful attention to subtle implementation issues and the ability to communicate complex reasoning clearly in English.

• Review source materials and model outputs against project guidelines
• Write expert responses and explain your reasoning clearly
• Identify errors in logic, memory handling, concurrency, safety, and performance
• Produce high-quality explanations and model solutions that demonstrate correct methods
• Rank and compare multiple AI responses based on correctness and reasoning quality
• Maintain consistency and quality across repeated review tasks

Required Expertise

This position requires advanced modern C++ expertise and substantial practical, academic, or professional experience with detailed code review and evaluation. You should be comfortable analyzing production-quality systems code and explaining both the problem and the correct approach.

Prior experience evaluating AI-generated technical content or training data is a strong plus, but the core requirement is deep C++ and systems programming knowledge paired with disciplined written reasoning.

• Relevant professional, academic, or practical expertise in C++ code review and evaluation
• Deep knowledge of modern C++ from C++11 onward, including templates, move semantics, smart pointers, and the STL
• Strong systems programming background in concurrency, operating systems, low-level performance optimization, and memory management
• Hands-on experience with C++ build systems, compilers, linkers, debuggers, and profiling tools
• Proven experience reviewing C++ for safety, performance, maintainability, and lifetime correctness
• Comfort working with version control, CI/CD workflows, and automated testing frameworks
• Fluency in English, clear technical writing, and the ability to reason step by step
• Highly detail-oriented and systematic, with strong subtle issue detection skills
