OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We help people start and grow freelance careers teaching AI by bringing projects, tools, and portfolio-building opportunities together in one place.
Working with OpenTrain means contributing directly to the human side of AI — helping models learn from high-quality, real-world linguistic data while keeping flexible, remote work options.
About AI training and this work
AI training (also called data labeling or annotation) is how people teach models to understand language, tone, and cultural nuance. Your transcriptions and annotations become the examples that shape how future AI systems interpret Myanmar and English speech.
This role focuses on video data: accurate timestamps, transcription, tone and grammatical analysis, and culturally informed explanations of complex terms.
The role — what you'll do
You will produce precise, high-quality written outputs from Myanmar and English video content. Tasks combine transcription with linguistic analysis and annotation for model training.
Transcribe spoken dialogue from video with precise timestamps and high accuracy.
Identify and describe emotional undertones, speaker expressiveness, and pragmatic signals.
Analyze grammatical structure, tone, and contextual meaning within dialogues.
Define and clarify complex Myanmar and English terms, capturing conceptual and cultural depth.
Perform language evaluation and content annotation tasks (TRANSCRIPTION, TEXT_GENERATION, QUESTION_ANSWERING, ENTITY/NER/CLASSIFICATION).
Follow project guidelines and deliver consistent, well-documented outputs while working independently and remotely.
Requirements
You must be fluent in both Myanmar and English and able to work carefully with bilingual content. This role is open to entry-level contributors who meet the language and accuracy expectations below.
Exceptional proficiency in Myanmar and English, written and verbal.
Experience with transcription, translation, or linguistic analysis.
Ability to transcribe video content with accurate timestamps and attention to detail.
Skill in analyzing tone, grammar, context, and emotional undertones in dialogue.
Strong understanding of Myanmar cultural cues, regional variation, and pragmatic nuance.
Ability to document findings clearly in a remote workflow.
Availability to contribute 20+ hours per week as a contractor (part-time).
Helpful background
These qualifications are advantageous but not required; applicants with practical experience can be competitive alongside those with academic backgrounds.
Experience in video content analysis, media localization, or subtitling.
Academic training in linguistics, translation, or related fields.
Familiarity with language-technology tools or content management systems.
Compensation, schedule, and logistics
This contractor role pays competitively by the hour. Projects are remote and can be done from most locations, following OpenTrain project schedules and guidelines.
Pay: USD $45–$95 per hour (rates vary by task complexity and reviewer quality).
Time: 20+ hours per week (part-time, contractor).
Data type: Video; primary label tasks include transcription, text generation, Q&A, and entity/NER classification.
