The Role
OpenTrain is recruiting a Medical Coding AI Training Expert to support the improvement of next-generation AI systems through accurate medical record annotation and review. You will assign ICD-10 and CPT codes from clinical documentation, apply Evaluation and Management leveling guidelines, and contribute medical coding expertise to the creation and validation of AI training datasets.

What You'll Do
You will evaluate clinical documentation and produce reliable coding judgments for datasets used in AI training. Accuracy, consistency, and clear explanations are important when handling routine records as well as edge cases.
Annotate and review medical records for accurate ICD-10 and CPT code assignment.
Apply official Evaluation and Management leveling guidelines to validate and enrich datasets.
Use current coding references to stay aligned with applicable coding standards.

Identify coding edge cases and explain the reasoning behind code assignments.
Provide feedback on coding guidelines, workflow improvements, and difficult examples.

Requirements
This opportunity requires an active AAPC Certified Professional Coder certification and current credential knowledge. You should be comfortable applying established coding systems to varied clinical documentation and communicating clearly about documentation requirements and coding standards.
You must have access to current official ICD-10, CPT, and Evaluation and Management reference materials.
