The Role

OpenTrain AI is recruiting a Litigation Attorney to evaluate and improve AI-generated legal content. You will use your litigation experience to assess accuracy, logic, and professionalism in model outputs and to draft stronger legal language for training purposes.

Tasks focus on text-based review and generation: evaluating responses, rating quality, and proposing edited drafts or alternative arguments to teach models better litigation reasoning.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate AI-generated briefs, memos, arguments, and procedural explanations for legal and factual accuracy.
• Rate outputs for analytical rigor, clarity, relevance, and adherence to professional standards.
• Identify errors, logical gaps, and incorrect citations; provide detailed written feedback and corrective suggestions.
• Draft or edit model-response examples to illustrate improved legal reasoning or argument structure.
• Resolve ambiguous or complex edge cases using your professional judgment to guide model calibration.
• Collaborate asynchronously with a cross-functional project team and incorporate iterative feedback.

Requirements

You must meet the core legal qualifications and be able to deliver precise, well-reasoned written feedback on legal content.

• JD from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school
• Active bar license in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• 3–15 years of post-JD legal experience, with strong preference for trial, appellate, or litigation specialists
• Proven legal writing ability and capacity to explain complex legal concepts clearly
• Ability to evaluate and improve AI-generated legal content; prior AI experience is not required

Helpful Background

• Judicial clerkship at the trial or appellate level
• Teaching or instructional experience in legal education (faculty, adjunct, lecturer)
• Law journal editing or published legal scholarship

Pay, Schedule & How It Works

Compensation is competitive and paid per hour. You set your own schedule and work asynchronously with the project team. OpenTrain handles contracting and payments so you can focus on substantive legal review.
