The Role
OpenTrain is seeking a Lithuanian Language AI Evaluation Expert to improve the quality, fluency, reliability, and cultural accuracy of AI-generated Lithuanian content. You will combine advanced Lithuanian language judgment with structured model evaluation, written feedback, and reference-answer creation across varied use cases.
This is a remote, hourly contractor opportunity for an individual language professional who can work reliably and independently across time zones. The role is listed as entry level, while the requirements call for at least three years of professional experience in a language-focused discipline.

What You'll Do
You will assess Lithuanian AI content across general knowledge, customer support, education, conversational writing, translation, localization, and culturally sensitive content. Your evaluations will help identify where model responses succeed and where they need clearer, more accurate, or more natural language.
Review accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, punctuation, tone, register, cultural appropriateness, and prompt adherence.
Flag bias, unsafe content, and policy-risk language.
Create prompts, rewrites, model answers, and gold-standard Lithuanian reference responses.
Rate and compare AI responses for correctness, meaning preservation, terminology quality, tone, register, safety, and overall quality.
Explain language issues clearly and provide precise written feedback showing how content should improve.
Requirements
You should have native or near-native Lithuanian proficiency, strong reading and writing ability, and professional English proficiency at a minimum C1 level for following guidelines and providing detailed feedback in English. Deep knowledge of Lithuanian grammar, spelling, punctuation, diacritics, cases, declension, conjugation, accentuation, word order, tone, and style is essential.
A bachelor's degree or higher in linguistics, Lithuanian language or literature, English literature, communications, journalism, translation, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience may also qualify. At least three years of professional experience in writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism, education, or another language-focused discipline is expected.
Strong judgment of Lithuanian grammar, case usage, agreement, word order, diacritics, punctuation, and style
Ability to distinguish formal, neutral, conversational, professional, educational, and public-facing Lithuanian registers
English-to-Lithuanian translation, localization, terminology, and meaning-preservation judgment
Ability to evaluate AI responses for fluency, factual reliability, safety, cultural appropriateness, and prompt adherence
Ability to create natural Lithuanian rewrites, prompts, and gold-standard reference answers
Reliable, self-directed work habits and consistent attention to detail
Prior experience with AI data training, annotation, translation QA, editorial QA, localization QA, or rubric-based evaluation is strongly preferred
