The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Legal AI Task Generation and Evaluation Expert to create, assess, and refine expert-level legal tasks and solutions used in AI training workflows. The work covers contract, litigation-support, and legal-research scenarios, with an emphasis on technically accurate, clear, and practically useful outputs.

This is a remote contract engagement aligned to the PST timezone. The expected commitment is 20 or more hours per week. Each approved task pays $400 and typically requires approximately 8 to 10 hours of work.

What You’ll Do

You will produce consistent written legal work under task-specific requirements and deadlines. The role combines legal analysis, task design, evaluation, and quality refinement, with ongoing use of rubrics, calibration guidance, and senior review feedback.

• Create expert-level legal tasks and corresponding solutions
• Develop work across contract, litigation-support, and legal-research workflows
• Evaluate tasks for legal accuracy, clarity, practical applicability, and consistency
• Apply rubric standards to produce reliable legal outputs
• Analyze complex legal issues and translate them into practical tasks
• Incorporate senior review and calibration feedback to improve task quality

Requirements

This role requires active authorization to practice law in a US state and three to eight years of legal practice. Candidates should be able to draw on real legal experience to create technically accurate and practically useful tasks and solutions.
