About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect contributors with hands-on projects that teach and refine modern AI systems while helping people gain real experience in a fast-growing field.

OpenTrain AI is the hiring and contracting organization for this role. We support remote, flexible work that fits students, professionals, and people seeking part-time or contract opportunities while contributing directly to how state-of-the-art AI behaves.

Why Work in AI Training

AI training (data annotation / human feedback) is the human side of building intelligent systems: people evaluate, correct, and create examples that models learn from. This work is accessible, often remote and flexible, and places contributors on the cutting edge of applied AI.

For language-focused projects you will shape how models understand grammar, meaning, and cultural usage — a unique chance to influence multilingual AI behavior while developing editing, linguistic, and evaluation skills.

The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking intermediate-level AI Trainers to improve the quality and accuracy of Latin–English language model outputs. This is a text-focused contractor role where you will evaluate, rewrite, and create high-quality content used to train and refine generative models.

Work includes evaluation and ranking of model responses, identifying hallucinations and factual errors, rewriting responses to improve clarity and accuracy, and providing structured written feedback following detailed guidelines.

  • Contract, fixed-price project: $8,000 total (do not infer payment schedule beyond this amount).
  • Languages required: English and Latin.
  • Location eligibility: United States, Canada, Europe, and Latin America only.
  • Employment type: Contractor.

What You'll Do

Day-to-day tasks center on careful reading, comparison, and editing of AI-generated text. You will apply project rubrics to rate responses, rewrite content to preserve intent while improving clarity and factual accuracy, and document justification for your decisions.

  • Evaluate AI-generated text for quality, accuracy, grammar, clarity, relevance, and consistency.
  • Rewrite and improve model responses while preserving intended meaning.
  • Compare multiple responses and rank or select the best answer.
  • Identify hallucinations, logical inconsistencies, misinformation, bias, and safety issues.
  • Perform annotation, classification, ranking, labeling, and structured evaluation tasks.
  • Provide clear written justifications and follow detailed project guidelines.
  • Meet productivity and quality targets within established deadlines and collaborate with project managers and reviewers.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following non-negotiable requirements drawn from the project specification.

  • BA/BS degree required (per job title requirement).
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; strong grammar, spelling, and proofreading ability.
  • Familiarity with Latin and experience performing Latin–English language review or comparable linguistic background.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow detailed written instructions and apply guidelines consistently.
  • Comfortable reviewing high volumes of written content and working independently in a remote environment.
  • Reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace.

Preferred Qualifications

These qualifications are advantageous but not strictly required; they reflect experience that helps contributors succeed faster on this project.

  • Previous experience in AI data annotation, RLHF, or content evaluation.
  • Background in writing, editing, proofreading, copywriting, or technical writing.
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or similar) and annotation platforms.
  • Experience moderating or evaluating digital content and working with quality assurance processes.

How the Project Works

You will work as a contractor following detailed annotation guidelines and productivity targets. Tasks include rating, rewriting, and producing short text examples; you will submit structured justifications for evaluations and participate in periodic quality reviews.

OpenTrain supports contributors with onboarding materials and examples; expect iterative feedback and guideline updates as models and project needs evolve.

  • Label types involved: Evaluation/Rating, Text Generation, and RLHF-style feedback.
  • Data type: Text-only tasks focused on Latin and English.
  • Project is remote and asynchronous; schedule specifics will be provided during onboarding.
  • All work must follow project guidelines for consistency and quality.

Who Should Apply & Next Steps

Apply if you have strong English editing skills, knowledge of Latin, a BA/BS degree, and the ability to apply rules consistently to evaluate and improve AI outputs. This role is best for contributors who enjoy careful linguistic work and making measurable improvements to model behavior.

To apply, create or use your OpenTrain account, confirm you meet the location and qualification requirements, and follow the application instructions on the project posting. Candidates outside the allowed regions (Africa or Asia) will not be considered.

  • This listing preserves all substantive project requirements; do not include additional qualifications beyond those provided.
  • OpenTrain is the contracting organization; contributors will receive onboarding and project guidelines after selection.
