The Role
OpenTrain is hiring an English LLM Linguistic Evaluator to assess and improve large language model outputs and curate high-quality English linguistic data for AI training. You will review generated English text across summarization, dialogue, grammar correction, rewriting, and reasoning use cases, applying careful linguistic, stylistic, and cultural judgment.
This is an entry-level remote contractor role with part-time, asynchronous work. The expected time commitment is 20 or more hours per week, and the rate is $50 per hour.

What You'll Do
You will evaluate English model-generated text and make precise revisions that improve quality, clarity, accuracy, and naturalness. Your analysis and feedback will help guide language model training across a range of written communication tasks.
Evaluate the quality and accuracy of English model-generated text across varied use cases
Edit, refine, and rewrite content for grammar, style, clarity, and cultural appropriateness
Annotate grammatical, syntactic, semantic, and stylistic features in English text
Identify model errors, inconsistencies, ambiguity, language gaps, and unnatural phrasing
Provide detailed linguistic analysis and actionable feedback for model training
Requirements
This role requires native or near-native English ability and a highly developed understanding of how English changes by context, region, tone, and audience. You should be comfortable making subtle, well-reasoned edits and explaining why a revision improves the text.
Native or near-native English fluency with excellent grammar, syntax, vocabulary, and stylistic control
Professional experience in editing, proofreading, writing, linguistic annotation, language evaluation, or English NLP data work
Ability to identify accuracy issues, ambiguity, unnatural phrasing, and context problems in LLM-generated text
Understanding of regional variation, tone, cultural appropriateness, and semantic nuance
Strong attention to detail, analytical judgment, and written communication skills
Ability to work independently in a distributed remote environment
Helpful Background
Interest in artificial intelligence and large language model technologies is helpful. Experience providing structured linguistic feedback or supporting language-data projects can also be valuable.
