About OpenTrain

OpenTrain AI is hiring contractors for the growing field of AI training and data labeling. OpenTrain is the leading platform for finding and building careers in this industry, helping contributors discover projects, build a professional profile, and apply in minutes.

About AI Training Work

AI systems learn from carefully prepared examples and human evaluations. In this role, your research, image preparation, and written grading criteria will help models interpret partial visual evidence and respond more accurately to real-world questions.

  • Work remotely with a computer and internet connection
  • Contribute to cutting-edge multimodal AI development
  • Build experience in image evaluation, research, and data annotation

The Role

OpenTrain AI is recruiting a Korean-speaking multimodal image evaluation annotator to create challenging visual research materials for AI systems. You will work with authentic photographs of real-world places, products, and media, then prepare cropped, occluded, masked, or degraded versions that preserve meaningful visual clues while concealing key identifying details.

The role combines image sourcing, copyright verification, investigative web research, image editing, and structured evaluation writing. The engagement is remote, part time, and lasts up to 16 weeks.

  • Remote contractor engagement
  • Up to 16 weeks
  • At least 4 hours per day and 20 hours per week
  • At least 4 hours of overlap with Pacific Time

What You’ll Do

You will source high-quality photographs relevant to the assigned Korean locale, including non-touristy landmarks, universities, municipal buildings, products, and domestic film or media. You will research each image carefully, document its provenance, and prepare evaluation materials that test whether an AI system can identify subjects from incomplete visual evidence.

  • Source relevant photographs from the assigned Korean locale
  • Verify whether images are original, copyright-free, publicly available, or explicitly licensed
  • Document image license type and provenance
  • Use Google Search, Google Lens, reverse image search, and other reliable research sources
  • Create realistic crops, masks, occlusions, or other degraded versions without adding misleading details
  • Write clear, time-bound prompts in English without revealing the target identity or answer
  • Prepare concise grading criteria and solution notes covering identity, research process, evidence, and expected outcome

Requirements

You should be a native or highly fluent Korean speaker with strong working English for writing prompts, rubrics, and solution notes. Strong cultural knowledge of the assigned locale is essential, particularly knowledge of Korean landmarks, universities, municipal buildings, and domestic film or media.

  • Native or highly fluent Korean and strong working English
  • Strong knowledge of Korean landmarks, universities, municipal buildings, and domestic film or media
  • Practical investigative research skills using search and reverse-image tools
  • Sound judgment when verifying image licenses, provenance, and copyright status
  • Basic image-editing ability, including realistic masking and image degradation
  • Ability to write objective evaluation criteria and structured solution notes
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

Helpful Experience

Experience in AI evaluation, data annotation, content review, quality assurance, or another analytical role is helpful but not required. Familiarity with Photoshop, shared Google Drive folders, file-naming conventions, and structured submissions is also useful.

  • AI evaluation or data annotation
  • Content review or quality assurance
  • Analytical research and evidence gathering
  • Photoshop or comparable image-editing tools
  • Organized file handling and structured submissions

Who Should Apply

This opportunity may suit an entry-level contributor who combines strong Korean cultural knowledge with careful online research and visual judgment. It is especially relevant if you enjoy investigating images, documenting evidence, and explaining evaluation standards clearly in English.
