About AI Training and Multimodal Evaluation
AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Contributors prepare examples, review model behavior, and create evaluation materials that help AI systems understand images, language, research tasks, and real-world context.
In this role, your work will combine visual annotation, image editing, web research, prompt writing, and evidence-based evaluation. Your materials will help assess whether an AI system can identify concealed information through multiple clues and research steps.
- Work on cutting-edge AI evaluation materials
- Combine image, language, and research skills
- Help shape how AI systems interpret visual information
- Complete work remotely with a flexible part-time engagement
The Role
OpenTrain AI is seeking an Indonesian Multimodal Image Evaluation Annotator to create realistic evaluation materials using authentic photographs connected to Indonesian places, products, institutions, and media.
You will prepare cropped, masked, occluded, or degraded images that conceal important identifying information while retaining realistic secondary clues. You will then write research-oriented prompts, grading criteria, and solution notes without revealing the target identity in the prompt.
- Role type: Contractor and part-time
- Experience level: Entry level
- Time requirement: At least 20 hours per week
- Required overlap: 4 hours with Pacific Time
- Languages: Native or highly fluent Indonesian and strong English
What You'll Do
You will source and validate photographs, transform them into challenging multimodal evaluation examples, and document how the concealed subject can be identified. The work requires careful organization, iterative investigation, and precise written documentation.
- Source high-quality photographs related to Indonesian locations, products, landmarks, universities, municipal buildings, and domestic film or media.
- Verify that each image is original, publicly available, copyright-free, or explicitly licensed.
- Document each image's license type and provenance.
- Use Google Search, Google Lens, reverse image search, and other reliable sources to establish the ground-truth identity of image subjects.
- Create realistic crops, masks, occlusions, or other degraded versions that conceal important identifying details.
- Preserve secondary clues that allow a research-capable AI system to investigate the image.
- Write time-bound prompts in English without revealing the target identity or answer.
- Create concise, objective grading criteria that do not disclose the target answer.
- Write solution notes covering the research process, supporting evidence, and expected outcome.
- Organize files carefully in shared Google Drive folders.
Required Qualifications
This role is designed for an entry-level contributor with strong Indonesian cultural knowledge, research ability, and attention to detail. A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
Previous AI evaluation, data annotation, content review, or quality assurance experience is helpful but not required.
- Native or highly fluent Indonesian language ability
- Strong English writing skills for prompts, rubrics, and solution notes
- Knowledge of non-touristy Indonesian landmarks, universities, municipal buildings, products, film, and media
- Ability to identify image subjects through iterative web and reverse-image research
- Understanding of copyright, licensing, image provenance, public-domain resources, or Creative Commons resources
- Basic image-editing ability for cropping, masking, occlusion, and degraded-image creation
- Careful technical writing and structured file organization
- Comfort working with shared Google Drive folders
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
