About OpenTrain
OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. Our mission is to connect talented people with projects that teach and improve AI systems — remote, flexible work that helps you grow skills in a fast-moving field.
About AI Training Work
AI training (also called data labeling or human-feedback work) is the human side of building modern AI: people prepare, write, and review examples that teach models to understand language, images, and behavior. Contributors work remotely, often with flexible schedules, and directly shape how state-of-the-art AI systems behave.
The Role
We are hiring a Korean Creative Writer on a remote contract basis to generate and refine chatbot dialogue and other prompt-response content used to train LLMs. This role focuses on writing high-quality, culturally authentic responses in Korean and improving AI-generated text so it reads naturally and accurately across dialects and contexts.
Employment type: contractor, part-time. Pay: $17 USD per hour. Time commitment: minimum 10 hours/week with a preferred commitment of 20+ hours/week. This role is open worldwide.
What You'll Do
- Write original, natural-sounding Korean responses to given prompts and scenarios used for supervised fine-tuning and text generation tasks.
- Edit and improve AI-generated Korean text for clarity, tone, and cultural relevance while preserving intent.
- Create variations in style and register (formal, casual, technical, persuasive) and reflect regional dialects or cultural nuance when requested.
- Follow project guidelines and annotation tools to deliver labeled prompt-response pairs and summaries (label types include prompt-response writing, text generation, and summarization).
- Work independently, manage your weekly availability, and communicate progress with the team in basic English as required.
Requirements
- Strong command of written Korean across multiple styles, with excellent grammar and editing skills.
- Over 5 years of creative or content writing experience in Korean is highly preferred but not strictly required; substantial Korean writing experience will improve your qualification score.
- Prior experience producing WRITTEN tasks on data-labeling platforms (OpenTrain, OpenTrain, Appen, OpenTrain.tech, etc.) is highly preferred — we care specifically about hands-on writing tasks, not just rating work.
- Basic understanding of English to follow instructions and communicate with the team.
- Experience using AI chatbot tools (e.g., ChatGPT) is an advantage but not required.
- Please be prepared to state how many years/months of experience you have writing on data-labeling platforms and to provide your highest level of education.
Interview And Short Test (Required)
During the interview you will be asked about your writing experience on data-labeling platforms, your portfolio (link or descriptions), and your education. At the end of the interview you will complete a short written test presented in English and Korean — you must answer in Korean. The test performance strongly influences your qualification score.
- We will ask: How many years/months have you spent doing WRITING tasks on data-labeling platforms? Provide links or descriptions of your portfolio if available.
- Test Question 1 (Korean): 독창적인 언어를 사용하여 독특하고 생생한 캐릭터를 간단히 묘사하세요. 묘사에는 적어도 두 가지 뚜렷한 특징이나 특성이 포함되어야 합니다.
- Test Question 2 (Korean): 준비한 '분기별 재무 보고서'에 대한 피드백을 요청하는 짧은 이메일을 상사에게 작성하세요. 데이터 분석 및 프레젠테이션 스타일에 초점을 맞추세요.
- Test Question 3 (Korean):
Compensation And Schedule
This is hourly paid work at $17 USD per hour as a contractor. You will set flexible hours but must commit at least 10 hours per week; candidates who can commit 20+ hours weekly are preferred.
Work is fully remote and open to applicants worldwide. There are no guaranteed benefits beyond the contract pay; please plan accordingly.
How To Apply
To apply, create a free OpenTrain account and submit your resume/CV, a brief note describing your experience writing on data-labeling platforms (including years/months), your availability, and a portfolio link or descriptions of published works if you have them.
Applications should include the highest level of education and any examples that show your range in Korean writing. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to the interview and required short written test in Korean.
