The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking an Italian Quality Assurance Lead to oversee quality, consistency, and trainer performance across Italian AI training projects. You will review Italian AI-generated content as well as trainer and QA submissions, compare work with project guidelines, and provide precise written feedback.

The role also involves identifying recurring quality issues, maintaining Italian documentation and style guides, supporting contributor onboarding, communicating workflow updates, and helping keep contributors engaged and active. This is an expert-level contractor position requiring 20+ hours per week and paying $45 per hour.

What You'll Do

• Review Italian AI-generated content and trainer or QA submissions for quality and consistency.
• Evaluate work against project guidelines, style guides, and project-specific rubrics.
• Assess grammar, spelling, accents, tone, register, cultural appropriateness, meaning preservation, formatting, and instruction-following.
• Judge translation fidelity, natural phrasing, terminology consistency, and rubric-based quality issues.
• Provide clear written feedback and escalate recurring or critical quality concerns.
• Communicate workflow changes, quality expectations, and project updates to trainers and QAs.
• Support onboarding materials, FAQs, trackers, examples, and honeypots.
• Run onboarding or training calls for Italian contributors.
• Help identify inactive contributors and follow up on availability issues.
• Improve QA workflows and apply Italian language guidelines consistently.

Required Qualifications

You should bring substantial Italian language, editing, localization, quality assurance, education, annotation, or AI training experience. Strong judgment and written communication are essential because you will evaluate nuanced language issues and explain decisions clearly to remote contributors and project teams.

• Native or near-native Italian proficiency with strong reading and writing accuracy.
• Strong English skills for following project guidelines and communicating with teams.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in Italian writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, annotation, or related work.
• Strong knowledge of Italian grammar, punctuation, accents, verb moods, register, tone, and cultural context.
• Ability to evaluate translation quality, natural phrasing, terminology consistency, and rubric-based issues.
• Experience supporting or leading remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs.
• Comfort providing precise written feedback and maintaining style guides or documentation.
• Familiarity with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management tools.
