The role

OpenTrain is hiring an Italian Quality Assurance Lead to oversee quality, consistency, and trainer performance across Italian AI training projects. This is a contractor, part‑time role requiring 20+ hours per week and remote work from within Italy.

You will review AI‑generated Italian content and trainer/QA submissions, provide precise written feedback, maintain Italian documentation and style guides, run onboarding or training calls, and escalate recurring or critical issues.

• Employment type: Contractor, Part‑time.
• Location: Remote (must be located in Italy).
• Hours: 20+ hours/week.
• Pay: USD 45 per hour.
• Data & tasks: Text evaluation (RLHF and evaluation rating tasks).

What you'll do

Day‑to‑day responsibilities focus on reviewing work against project rubrics, coaching contributors, and keeping Italian guidelines accurate and applied consistently.

• Review Italian AI outputs and trainer/QA submissions for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, and rubric adherence.
• Evaluate submissions against project guidelines, style guides, and project‑specific rubrics.
• Provide clear, actionable written feedback to contributors and escalate recurring or critical quality issues.
• Update and maintain Italian documentation, style guides, examples, FAQs, trackers, and honeypots.
• Run onboarding and training calls for Italian contributors and support ongoing engagement.
• Identify inactive contributors, follow up on availability, and help improve QA workflows and consistency.

Requirements

You must bring strong Italian language expertise, experience with quality review, and the ability to lead or support remote contributor teams. Tools commonly used include Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, and dashboards.

• Native or near‑native Italian with excellent written accuracy and attention to grammar, punctuation, accents, and register.
• Strong English reading and writing skills for following guidelines and communicating with cross‑team stakeholders.
• Minimum 3+ years professional experience in Italian writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, annotation, or related roles.
• Experience evaluating translation fidelity, natural phrasing, terminology consistency, and rubric‑based quality issues.
• Experience supporting or leading remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs.
• Comfort using Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, and common project management tools.
• Ability to write precise feedback, maintain style guides, and run contributor onboarding/training sessions.
