About AI training work
AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback) is the human side of building intelligent systems: people create and evaluate examples so models learn correct, useful behavior. Language reviewers are central to making multilingual models accurate, natural, and safe.
Work is often 100% remote and good for part-time schedules.
Many projects need language expertise rather than technical coding skills — a strong command of a language and careful judgment are highly valuable.
The role
You will evaluate AI-generated Italian responses and produce expert Italian-language content when needed. This is an hourly contractor, part-time role for contributors based in Italy who can provide precise feedback on grammar, meaning, reasoning, and factual accuracy.
Contract type: Hourly contractor, part-time.
Location: Candidates must be based in Italy.
Time expectation: 20+ hours per week.
What you will do
Your core tasks are to judge the quality and correctness of Italian model outputs, write clear corrections, and compare multiple responses for reasoning and factual accuracy.
Review AI-generated Italian responses for accuracy, clarity, naturalness, and register.
Generate high-quality Italian-language content or model revisions when requested.
Identify and explain errors in logic, methodology, meaning drift, and conceptual understanding.
Fact-check claims and write concise, actionable corrections and explanations in Italian.
Rate and compare multiple AI responses on correctness and reasoning quality.
Apply style guides and maintain consistent terminology, tone, and localization across outputs.
Requirements
Candidates must meet the language, location, and education requirements below and demonstrate strong editorial judgment in Italian.
Native or near-native Italian proficiency (required).
Minimum C1 level English proficiency (required).
Strong command of Italian grammar, including clitics, tense/aspect/mood, semantics, pragmatics, and discourse-level editing.
Ability to distinguish semantic errors from stylistic preferences and to spot subtle meaning drift or locale inconsistencies.
Clear written explanation skills in Italian for corrections and model feedback.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics, Italian, Translation/Localization, Communications, or a related field.
Candidates must be based in Italy.
Preferred experience and background
You don’t need to be an ML engineer, but prior experience working on language QA or with AI training processes is strongly preferred.
Experience with AI data training, editorial QA, translation/localization QA, or professional editing is strongly preferred.
Background in copyediting, localization, or multilingual communication is helpful.
Familiarity with register, tone, morphosyntax, and localization judgment is a plus.
