About AI Training and Evaluation Work

AI evaluation is the human side of building modern AI systems. Specialists review model outputs, identify errors, and provide structured feedback that helps improve datasets and automated workflows.

In this role, your healthcare revenue cycle expertise will help evaluate insurance verification, eligibility determination, and benefits investigation outputs. Your feedback can support more accurate front-end revenue cycle automation.

The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking an Insurance Verification AI Evaluation Specialist to review AI-generated results for accuracy, completeness, and payer compliance. You will verify coverage through payer portals, clearinghouses, and EDI 270/271 real-time eligibility transactions.

The work also includes identifying coordination of benefits issues and coverage discrepancies before service delivery, then providing structured feedback that supports AI training datasets and workflow improvements.

  • Remote contract role open to candidates located in the United States
  • Hourly pay: $105 USD
  • Default commitment: 20 hours per week
  • Contractor and part-time engagement

What You'll Do

You will apply expert knowledge of insurance verification and front-end revenue cycle operations to assess AI-generated eligibility and benefits workflows. The role combines output evaluation, coverage verification, discrepancy identification, and operational documentation.

  • Review AI-generated eligibility verification outputs for accuracy, completeness, and payer compliance
  • Verify insurance coverage using payer portals, clearinghouses, and EDI 270/271 real-time eligibility transactions
  • Identify coordination of benefits issues, coverage gaps, and eligibility discrepancies before service delivery
  • Document standard operating procedures and recommend workflow improvements that reduce eligibility-related claim denials
  • Monitor verification accuracy, denial rates, and turnaround times for eligibility workflows
  • Provide structured feedback to support AI training datasets

Requirements

This is an expert-level opportunity for professionals with substantial insurance verification, eligibility and benefits management, or front-end revenue cycle experience. Strong communication and detailed knowledge of payer workflows are essential.

  • At least 5 years of experience in insurance verification, eligibility and benefits management, or front-end revenue cycle operations
  • At least 2 years of experience in a management role
  • Expert knowledge of EDI 270/271 transactions and real-time eligibility tools
  • Experience resolving coordination of benefits issues and eligibility discrepancies
  • Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer eligibility requirements
  • Proficiency with Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or a similar EHR platform
  • Experience with Availity, Change Healthcare, or a comparable clearinghouse tool
  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills
  • CHAM, CHAA, or equivalent front-end revenue cycle certification preferred

Who Should Apply

This role may suit an insurance verification leader, eligibility and benefits specialist, or front-end revenue cycle manager who wants to apply healthcare operations expertise to cutting-edge AI development. Your ability to recognize payer compliance issues and evaluate workflow accuracy will directly inform model improvement.

  • Expert-level insurance verification and revenue cycle professionals
  • Candidates experienced with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer requirements
  • Professionals familiar with EDI transactions, payer portals, clearinghouses, and EHR platforms
  • Applicants located in the United States with strong English communication skills
