About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for building careers in AI training and data labeling. We hire and contract contributors directly, helping language specialists show verifiable experience, discover projects that match their skills, and grow durable freelance careers in the AI-training industry.

About AI training and this work

AI training (data labeling/annotation) is the human work behind how modern AI systems learn. Language experts help teach models by translating, reviewing, and refining text so models understand nuance, tone, and cultural context.

This role focuses on Hebrew language quality: your work directly improves how AI systems communicate in Hebrew and ensures content aligns with local idioms, brand voice, and best practices.

The role

OpenTrain is hiring a remote Hebrew Language Expert to perform translation, localization, proofreading, linguistic review, terminology management, and QA for Hebrew text. This is a part-time contractor role requiring 20+ hours per week.

Work is performed in Hebrew and English and is paid hourly. Pay ranges from $10 to $30 per hour (typical top rate $30/hr); OpenTrain manages contracting and payments for contributors.

  • Employment type: Contractor, part-time.
  • Time commitment: 20+ hours per week.
  • Languages required: Hebrew (native or near-native) and professional English.

What you'll do

You will refine text and workflows across translation and localization tasks, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and cultural fit. Work centers on text data and includes translation, review, and short-form summarization when required.

  • Translate and localize a range of written materials to and from Hebrew.
  • Proofread Hebrew content for grammar, spelling, tone, and brand voice.
  • Perform linguistic QA and terminology management to ensure consistency.
  • Provide constructive feedback to improve deliverables and team workflows.
  • Monitor Hebrew language trends and cultural nuances to keep content current.
  • Adapt communications to fit intended audiences and brand tone.

Requirements

  • Native or near-native proficiency in Hebrew with strong grammar, spelling, and stylistic control.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Hebrew and English.
  • Experience in translation, localization, or linguistic quality assurance (intermediate level).
  • Deep understanding of Hebrew idioms, cultural sensitivities, and style adaptation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Familiarity with CAT tools, localization platforms, or linguistic QA systems is a plus.

Who should apply

This role is a good fit for professional translators, localization specialists, editors, or bilingual communicators who want flexible, remote, part-time work shaping AI language quality. You should be comfortable documenting decisions and providing clear feedback to improve content and processes.

  • Translators or editors with proven Hebrew/English experience.
  • Localization practitioners familiar with terminology management and style guides.
  • Freelancers seeking steady part-time contractor work and portfolio growth in AI training.

How it works

Apply through your OpenTrain profile so your experience and work history are recorded on the platform. OpenTrain handles contracting and payments for contributors.

After onboarding you'll receive tasks, guidelines, and quality metrics; you choose hours that fit your schedule while meeting task deadlines and quality standards.

  • Work remotely from anywhere; OpenTrain supports global contributors.
  • Paid hourly with rates between $10–$30, depending on task and experience.
  • Onboarding includes guidelines, examples, and a short qualification or test.
