About AI training and why it matters

AI training (data labeling, annotation, and human feedback) is the human work that teaches AI systems how people speak, write, and communicate. Contributors shape how models understand language and pronunciation by providing examples, corrections, and expert feedback.

The role — French Voice Coach

You will provide live and/or recorded French voice coaching to learners, focusing on pronunciation, diction, prosody, and overall communicative clarity. Your coaching will be used directly to improve spoken-language datasets and help learners speak with greater confidence.

This is a contractor, part-time position (less than 20 hours/week) paid per hour. OpenTrain pays between $30 and $65 per hour depending on experience and assignment complexity.

What you'll do

Deliver tailored voice-coaching sessions, create practice materials, and record clear assessments and progress notes for each learner. Adapt your approach for diverse backgrounds and proficiency levels.

• Deliver personalized voice coaching sessions for diverse learners in French.
• Design tailored exercises to strengthen pronunciation, diction, fluency, and prosody.
• Evaluate learner progress and provide actionable, empathetic feedback.
• Develop virtual coaching materials and resources for remote delivery.
• Keep detailed session notes and progress records that support AI training data quality.

Requirements

You must be native or near-native in French with a strong understanding of French phonetics, pronunciation, and cultural nuances. This role is entry-level friendly but requires relevant coaching or instruction experience.

• Native or near-native French proficiency with strong knowledge of phonetics and cultural norms.
• Experience in voice coaching, speech therapy, language instruction, or a related field.
• Ability to design exercises, adapt methods to learner progress, and give clear, empathetic feedback.
• Comfort using digital tools for virtual coaching, recording, and managing session records.
• Organized with good time-management skills for remote, part-time work.
• Certification in speech coaching, linguistics, or language education is a plus.
• Experience working with multicultural or international teams is a plus.

This contract role is remote and available worldwide; sessions and materials are audio-focused (AUDIO / AUDIO_RECORDING). Expect to work less than 20 hours per week and to be paid hourly at $30–$65/hr depending on assignment.
