The role

OpenTrain is recruiting French-speaking voice actors to record audio for text-to-speech (TTS) training and evaluation. You will produce clean, expressive readings across conversational, narrative, and instructional scripts, following detailed recording and delivery guidance.

• Contractor, part-time role with a target commitment of 20+ hours per week.
• Pay: USD 50 per hour (pay-per-hour).
• Work is fully remote and worldwide; applications accepted from candidates who meet the language and equipment requirements.

What you'll do

You will record voice samples and submit audio files that meet project specs. Tasks include delivering consistent pronunciations and emotional variety, following technical instructions, and providing alternate takes when different styles are requested.

• Record French voice samples for speech-model training and evaluation.
• Deliver clear, natural, and expressive readings across varied scripts and styles.
• Maintain consistent voice, accent, and pacing across sessions.
• Follow guidance for recording environment, microphone setup, and file formatting.
• Provide alternate takes for variations in emotion, emphasis, or style.

Requirements

Candidates must meet both linguistic and technical standards. The project needs performers who can produce broadcast-quality audio and demonstrate controlled, professional delivery across multiple script types.

• Native or native-level fluency in French with a standard, neutral accent.
• Professional experience in voice acting, dubbing, narration, podcasting, or broadcasting.
• Strong control of intonation, diction, pacing, and emotional range.
• Access to a professional or near-professional microphone and a quiet recording environment.
• Ability to follow scripts precisely while keeping delivery natural and consistent.
