The Role

We are hiring a remote contract French Creative Writer to generate and polish natural, culturally relevant chatbot responses used to train large language models. This role emphasizes high-quality French writing across dialects and registers and directly improves how conversational AI understands and replies in French.

• Employment type: Contractor, part-time.
• Schedule: Flexible remote work; minimum 10 hours/week required; preferred commitment 20+ hours/week.
• Pay: USD $27 per hour.

What You’ll Do

Daily tasks focus on creative text production and editing specifically for chatbot training data.

• Write original, engaging responses to prompts in French (prompt-response writing / SFT-style examples).
• Revise and improve AI-generated texts to increase naturalness, accuracy, and cultural relevance.
• Produce variant phrasings and dialogue to cover different tones, dialects, and user intents.
• Follow provided guidelines to ensure consistency, safety, and annotation quality.

Requirements

We will evaluate applicants on writing experience, linguistic skill, and attention to detail. Preserve and reference the following qualifications during application and interview.

• Fluent written French with excellent grammar and familiarity with regional/dialectal differences.
• More than five years of creative or content writing in French is strongly preferred.
• Prior experience writing prompt responses on data-labeling or AI-training platforms (experience producing written SFT examples preferred).
• Basic English comprehension to follow instructions and communicate with the team.
• Analytical thinking, strong editing/proofreading skills, and ability to simplify complex ideas.
• Background in business, science, or related field and current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree or higher is desirable.
• Portfolio of published French writing preferred; be prepared to share links or descriptions if available.

Interview Process & Short French Test

The interview includes conversational questions about your writing and platform experience and concludes with a short test presented in English and French; you must answer in French. Responses to the test significantly influence your qualification score.

• Interview questions will ask about years/months of relevant writing experience, platform experience producing prompt responses, and highest education level.
• At the end of the interview you will take a short written test. Test questions (applicant must respond in French):
• QUESTION 1: Describe a Character — French prompt: "Décrivez brièvement un personnage unique et vivant en utilisant un langage créatif. Votre description doit inclure au moins deux traits distinctifs."
• QUESTION 2: Draft a Professional Email — French prompt: "Rédigez un courriel court à votre superviseur demandant des retours sur le 'Rapport Financier Trimestriel' que vous avez préparé. Concentrez votre demande sur l'analyse des données et le style de présentation."
• QUESTION 3: Write a Persuasive Email — French prompt: "Écrivez un courriel concis pour convaincre un ami introverti de se porter volontaire comme orateur à un événement local. Mettez en avant deux avantages de participer et abordez une préoccupation potentielle qu'ils pourraient avoir."

How Work Is Assigned, Payment, and Tools

This is contract, part-time work paid hourly. Tasks are assigned via OpenTrain workflows and you will follow clear annotation and writing guidelines for each assignment.

• Compensation: $27 USD per hour, paid according to the contractor agreement.
• Labeling types include prompt-response writing, question answering, and text generation.
• Flexible hours: choose times that suit you while meeting the minimum weekly commitment.
• You will need a reliable internet connection and the ability to follow written task instructions precisely.
