OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. OpenTrain AI is hiring a FreeCAD Expert contractor to create high-quality engineering content that helps artificial intelligence understand complex technical designs.
Creating an OpenTrain account is free, and candidates can apply in minutes. This remote opportunity is structured as part-time contract work.
AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. People with specialized knowledge create, review, and evaluate examples that teach AI systems how to interpret information and produce useful responses.
In this role, your mechanical engineering and CAD expertise will help create objective technical examples based on real assembly geometry, relationships, and engineering function.
As a FreeCAD Expert, you will author objective, precise, and non-guessable question-and-answer sets using multi-part CAD assemblies provided in native FreeCAD format. Each question must have an exact, verifiable answer that requires genuine domain expertise.
The work combines technical analysis, engineering communication, and content creation. You will examine complex mechanical designs and turn your findings into clear, assessment-ready material.
You will develop detailed technical questions and answers that accurately reflect the underlying CAD assemblies. The content should be precise, objective, and designed so that answers can be verified from the provided designs.
You will also collaborate asynchronously through written and verbal communication to clarify requirements, respond to feedback, and improve deliverables. When you encounter insights or ambiguities, you will document them to support continuous improvement.
This is an expert-level opportunity for a consultant or professional who values accuracy and clear technical communication. Candidates should be comfortable analyzing engineering designs and explaining complex technical concepts in writing and conversation.
Direct FreeCAD experience is preferred but is not strictly required if you have experience with comparable CAD platforms and can interpret multi-part assemblies effectively.
This role is well suited to an experienced mechanical engineer, aerospace engineer, industrial designer, CAD specialist, or technical consultant who can translate detailed assembly analysis into rigorous question-and-answer content.
Apply if you enjoy solving precise engineering problems, assessing designs carefully, and producing technical material that must be accurate rather than speculative.
Apply through OpenTrain to be considered for this remote FreeCAD Expert contract. OpenTrain helps people discover and build careers in AI training, where expert contributors use their knowledge to shape how advanced AI systems learn.
The expected workload is under 20 hours per week, and the project is expected to run for 1 to 3 months. Review the opportunity details and submit your application through your free OpenTrain account.
