About AI Training and Language QA

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Contributors prepare, review, and rate examples that help AI systems understand language, follow instructions, and produce more useful responses. This role focuses on Finnish-language evaluation, feedback, and quality control across AI training projects.

The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Finnish Quality Assurance Lead to oversee quality, consistency, and trainer performance across Finnish AI training projects. You will review Finnish AI-generated content and trainer QA work, assess results against project guidelines, and provide precise written feedback.

Your evaluations will cover accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, meaning preservation, instruction-following, formatting, and rubric adherence. You will also help keep remote contributors aligned as project expectations and workflows evolve.

What You’ll Do

You will combine detailed Finnish language review with workflow coordination and contributor support. The work includes identifying individual and recurring quality issues, communicating expectations clearly, and maintaining the documentation that helps trainers and QAs perform consistently.

• Review Finnish AI training content and trainer QA work for quality and consistency
• Provide clear written feedback on language quality, formatting, and rubric compliance
• Spot recurring issues and escalate critical quality gaps
• Communicate guideline updates and workflow changes to trainers and QAs
• Maintain style guides, trackers, FAQs, examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials
• Support onboarding and training for contributors on Finnish-language projects
• Help activate inactive contributors and track follow-ups when needed
• Improve quality workflows for Finnish-language projects as work evolves

Required Qualifications

This role requires strong Finnish language judgment, clear English communication, and experience with structured review or quality workflows. You should be comfortable evaluating both language details and adherence to project instructions in remote team environments.

• Native or near-native Finnish proficiency with strong reading and writing skills
• Strong English communication for guidelines, feedback, documentation, and team coordination
• Experience in Finnish writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, or related language review workflows
• Familiarity with AI training, data annotation, large language models, or rubric-based evaluation
• Ability to evaluate Finnish grammar, spelling, tone, register, cultural context, and translation fidelity
• Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in remote tools and team environments
• Comfort coordinating quality workflows with remote trainers and reviewers

Helpful Background

• Degree in Finnish, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or a related field
• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs
• Experience reviewing translation quality, localization, or language QA work
• Familiarity with AI training, rubric-based evaluation, or large language model QA
• Comfort handling standard Finnish and simplified Finnish when required
