The Role

OpenTrain AI is recruiting a Finnish Language Quality Reviewer to assess AI-generated Finnish content and create high-quality Finnish reference answers. You will examine fluency, correctness, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, and adherence to prompts.

The work also involves identifying mistranslations, register problems, ambiguity, logical inconsistencies, and unsafe or misleading content. You will compare multiple AI responses and determine which is more accurate, natural, and useful.

This is a remote, part-time contractor role focused on Finland, with hourly pay of up to $50 and an expected commitment of 20 or more hours per week.

What You'll Do

You will work across general knowledge, customer support, education, and conversational writing tasks. Your feedback and reference answers will help improve how AI handles Finnish language, meaning, style, and real-world communication.

• Review and improve AI-generated Finnish writing for accuracy, fluency, style, and cultural fit
• Identify meaning errors, mistranslations, register issues, ambiguity, and logical inconsistencies
• Fact-check claims when needed and flag hallucinated or misleading content
• Write high-quality Finnish rewrites and gold-standard reference answers
• Rate and compare multiple AI responses based on correctness and overall quality
• Create prompts and gold-standard Finnish answers across varied subject areas
• Help make Finnish AI output more natural, reliable, and clearly written

Required Qualifications

You should be a native or near-native Finnish writer with strong professional English skills for providing detailed written feedback. The role requires a deep understanding of Finnish grammar and style, along with the ability to judge subtle differences in meaning, tone, and audience suitability.

Relevant experience may come from linguistics, translation, editing, localization, journalism, education, AI data training, annotation, translation quality assurance, editorial quality assurance, or rubric-based evaluation.

• Native or near-native Finnish proficiency in reading and writing
• Strong professional English for detailed written feedback
• Deep knowledge of Finnish grammar, including case usage, word order, compounds, punctuation, and register
• Comfort working with formal and informal registers, selkokieli, and audience adaptation
• Strong attention to subtle meaning shifts, literal translations, and culturally mismatched phrasing
• Prior experience with AI data training, annotation, translation QA, editorial QA, or rubric-based evaluation

Helpful Background

A bachelor's degree or higher in a language-related field is helpful, as is professional experience writing, editing, or reviewing Finnish content. Familiarity with comparing model responses and delivering structured quality feedback can also support success in this role.
