The role
As a Financial Planning AI Training Expert you'll review realistic household scenarios and evaluate AI-generated recommendations across budgeting, emergency funds, debt management, retirement planning, investing basics, and client communication. You will identify compliance and risk issues, apply fiduciary standards, and provide clear written feedback to improve model responses and workflows.
What you'll do
Assess suitability, clarity, practicality, and compliance of AI advice for W-2 earners and middle-income households
Evaluate recommendations on budgeting, cash flow, debt payoff strategies, retirement savings, and basic insurance needs
Document typical advisor-client conversation flows including goal prioritization and decision points
Explain decision rules, rules of thumb, and benchmarks used in everyday planning
Provide plain-language written feedback to improve AI explanations, next steps, and client communication
Requirements
You must meet the following baseline qualifications and bring strong judgment grounded in client-facing planning experience.
3+ years of hands-on, client-facing financial planning experience serving mainstream households
Strong experience in budgeting, cash flow analysis, debt management, retirement strategies, and basic risk management
CFP certification strongly preferred; CFA, ChFC, or similar planning credentials accepted when paired with strong planning experience
Demonstrated commitment to fiduciary standards, compliance, and high-integrity client service
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex topics clearly
Experience mentoring others or improving planning workflows is a plus
Helpful background
The project suits people who've worked in workplace financial consulting, advisor roles at national firms, or on digital advice platforms. Familiarity with personal finance apps and comfort working asynchronously and independently will help you move quickly.
