The Role

OpenTrain is hiring contractors to improve AI behavior in personal finance. In this role you will evaluate model outputs, draft realistic client-facing prompts, design rubrics to assess recommendations, and give detailed feedback that improves financial reasoning, clarity, and ethical judgment.

What You'll Do

You will focus on text-based tasks that include rating model responses, generating example prompts, and shaping evaluation criteria. Clear written feedback and collaboration with teammates are central to success.

• Assess personal financial scenarios and judge the quality of AI-generated recommendations.
• Draft realistic prompts that reflect genuine client questions about personal finance.
• Create structured rubrics for reviewing accuracy, clarity, and ethical considerations.
• Provide detailed, actionable feedback on strengths and weaknesses in financial reasoning.
• Contribute domain insight from tax planning, investing, and household finance best practices.
• Collaborate with project teammates through written and verbal communication.

Requirements

This engagement requires professional experience in personal finance fields and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly. No prior AI experience is required; we value domain expertise and judgment.

• Professional background in financial advising, wealth management, banking, investment analysis, or tax planning.
• Experience creating, reviewing, or applying financial guidance for individuals or households.
• Ability to evaluate personal financial scenarios and recommend sound judgments.
• Skill creating rubrics and using decision-making frameworks to assess content.
• Clear written and verbal communication for explaining complex financial concepts.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical judgment.

Pay, Time Commitment, and Tasks

This contractor role pays between $80 and $110 per hour. The expected minimum time commitment is 20+ hours per week. Tasks are text-focused and include evaluation rating, text generation, and RLHF-style feedback.
