About AI Training Work
AI training is the human side of building intelligent systems: people prepare examples, write guidance, and evaluate model outputs so models learn safe, useful behaviour. This project focuses on personal financial advisory — your structured, client-facing financial judgments and clear writing will directly improve AI-assisted financial planning tools.
These roles are typically remote and flexible, and they let you apply professional domain knowledge without a full-time change in employment. Work is task-based: you follow project instructions and rubrics to create or review text that trains and evaluates models.
The Role
OpenTrain is recruiting a Personal Financial Advisor for AI Training to create and review written financial-planning guidance and realistic client scenarios. You will produce clear, client-centric written responses and evaluation ratings so AI systems can learn from structured human expertise.
This is a US-only, part-time contractor role estimated at about 20 hours per week for 1–3 months, with flexible scheduling. Compensation is $80–$110 per hour.
What You'll Do
Deliver personalized, actionable financial guidance on budgeting, investing, retirement, and debt management.
Review and assess realistic client scenarios to improve AI-assisted financial planning outputs.
Write clear, structured feedback and model responses that are easy for clients to understand.
Evaluate model replies and rate correctness, completeness, and client suitability using rubrics.
Balance short-term needs with long-term planning while applying tax-aware strategies and regulatory considerations.
Requirements
You must meet every listed requirement; OpenTrain will verify relevant credentials and experience.
3+ years advising individual clients in personal financial advisory or private wealth management.
CFP, CFA, or equivalent credential.
Strong knowledge of budgeting, investment planning, retirement planning, and debt management.
Strong judgment on tax-aware strategies and familiarity with regulatory compliance in US personal finance.
Fluency in English and excellent written communication.
Ability to follow detailed project instructions and apply rubrics consistently.
Comfort working independently as a remote contractor.
Who Should Apply
Experienced, licensed or credentialed financial advisors who enjoy explaining complex concepts in straightforward written form and who can consistently apply professional judgment to realistic client scenarios.
Ideal applicants are comfortable producing client-ready guidance and evaluating model outputs against professional standards.
