About AI Training Work

AI training is the human work behind modern artificial intelligence. Specialists create, review, and evaluate examples that teach AI systems to interpret information, reason accurately, and produce useful responses. In this role, your financial and operational expertise will help shape advanced systems that work with complex charts and quantitative analysis.

  • Remote work with a global contributor community
  • Directly contribute to the development of advanced AI systems
  • Apply professional expertise to structured, objectively verifiable tasks

The Role

OpenTrain is recruiting a Financial and Operations Chart Analysis Expert to create high-quality training and evaluation material for advanced AI systems. You will interpret complex financial and operational visualizations, convert them into graphical-reasoning tasks, and provide answers supported by explicit quantitative analysis.

This is an entry-level contractor and part-time opportunity for someone who can bring relevant finance, economics, analytics, industrial engineering, or operations knowledge to AI training. The role is worldwide, requires 20+ hours per week, and pays $25-$50 per hour.

  • Employment type: Contractor and part time
  • Work location: Worldwide and remote
  • Time requirement: 20+ hours per week
  • Pay: $25-$50 USD per hour
  • Language: Professional English

What You'll Do

You will design analytical questions and answers based on diverse financial and operational charts. Assignments should require genuine interpretation and multi-step reasoning rather than simple visual description. Your work must be clear, precise, and objectively verifiable.

You will also collaborate remotely in writing and conversation, incorporate feedback, and maintain accurate terminology and notation throughout each deliverable.

  • Interpret candlestick charts, yield curves, drawdown charts, and market-volume charts
  • Analyze control charts, Pareto charts, process flows, and capacity or throughput charts
  • Draft questions involving calculations, comparisons, trend analysis, and interpolation
  • Produce unambiguous answers with comprehensive explanations and documented analytical steps
  • Apply accurate financial, economic, and operational terminology
  • Clarify units, scales, timeframes, categories, legends, and notation
  • Create benchmark and graphical-reasoning tasks with objectively verifiable answers
  • Incorporate feedback through effective remote written and verbal collaboration

Required Skills and Background

You should be comfortable interpreting axes, units, legends, scales, and annotations across different chart types. Clear written and spoken professional English is required so you can explain quantitative reasoning in a way that is accurate and easy to evaluate.

Relevant professional, academic, or research experience with financial market data, risk metrics, or operational performance charts is expected. Prior AI experience is not required; your domain expertise can provide the foundation for this work.

  • Financial market data, risk metric, or operational performance chart interpretation
  • Multi-step quantitative reasoning using axes, units, scales, legends, and annotations
  • Ability to construct precise, non-subjective analytical questions
  • Ability to evaluate whether answers are objectively verifiable
  • Clear professional English for explaining calculations, comparisons, trends, and interpolation
  • Knowledge of finance, economics, business analytics, industrial engineering, or operations management

Helpful Experience

The following background can strengthen your application, though it is not presented as a requirement. Experience with structured analytical deliverables is especially relevant to the careful, repeatable work involved in AI training and evaluation.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in finance, economics, business analytics, industrial engineering, operations management, or a related field
  • Technical documentation or financial reporting experience
  • Process or quality assessment experience
  • Experience producing data-annotation tasks, benchmark questions, or technical reports
  • Experience delivering work for finance, operations, or AI-driven projects
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and another language relevant to the financial or operational domain
