AI training is the human work behind modern artificial intelligence. Contributors create and evaluate examples that help advanced models understand information, reason accurately, and produce useful responses.

The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Financial and Operations Chart Analysis Expert to create high-quality training and evaluation material for advanced AI systems. You will interpret complex financial and operational visualizations, turn them into objective graphical-reasoning tasks, and provide answers supported by explicit quantitative analysis.

This role combines financial and operations expertise, careful chart interpretation, and precise written reasoning. Prior AI experience is not required when you bring strong subject-matter expertise.

  • Worldwide remote contract opportunity
  • Part-time workload of 20+ hours per week
  • Compensation of $25–$50 per hour
  • Work conducted in professional English

What You'll Do

You will create questions and answers that require more than surface-level chart observations. Your work should make the underlying reasoning clear, accurate, and objectively verifiable.

You will also incorporate feedback through effective remote written and verbal collaboration while maintaining precise terminology, notation, units, and analytical documentation.

  • Interpret candlestick charts, yield curves, drawdown charts, and market-volume charts
  • Analyze control charts, Pareto charts, process flows, and capacity or throughput charts
  • Draft multi-step questions involving calculations, comparisons, trend analysis, and interpolation
  • Produce unambiguous answers with comprehensive explanations and documented analytical steps
  • Apply accurate financial, economic, and operational terminology
  • Account for units, scales, timeframes, categories, legends, and annotations
  • Evaluate whether questions and answers are objectively verifiable

Requirements

You should be comfortable interpreting diverse chart types and explaining quantitative reasoning clearly in written and spoken professional English. Relevant professional, academic, or research experience with financial market data, risk metrics, or operational performance charts is expected.

The role requires the ability to construct precise, non-subjective analytical questions and assess whether responses are supported by the available chart evidence.

  • Experience interpreting financial market data, risk metrics, or operational performance charts
  • Strong understanding of axes, units, scales, legends, and annotations
  • Ability to perform and explain multi-step quantitative reasoning
  • Ability to analyze calculations, comparisons, trends, and interpolation
  • Clear professional English communication
  • Finance, economics, business analytics, industrial engineering, or operations management knowledge

Helpful Background

A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in finance, economics, business analytics, industrial engineering, operations management, or a related field is helpful. Experience creating data-annotation tasks, benchmark questions, technical reports, or structured deliverables for finance, operations, or AI-driven projects is also valuable.

Familiarity with technical documentation, financial reporting, process or quality assessment, or other structured analytical work can support success in this role. Bilingual proficiency in English and another language relevant to the financial or operational domain is beneficial.

  • Professional, academic, or research experience with financial or operational charts
