Finance Research Expert (US SEC Filings)

You will create finance research questions about US public companies and assess how AI models answer them. Your work will rely on SEC filings and investor-relations materials, with each question supported by a clear, defensible source answer.

• Research figures and disclosures in 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, proxy statements, earnings releases, investor presentations, and related materials.
• Compare documents when reported numbers differ, including original and restated figures or adjusted and reported results.
• Track fiscal years, document versions, and amended filings so each question has a reliable answer.
• Write precise questions and revise wording when more than one interpretation could be valid.
• Test questions against current AI models and keep examples where the model response is incorrect or ambiguous.

What it pays and takes

This is a part-time remote contractor role for experienced finance research contributors. Each research task takes approximately 4 to 8 hours.

• Pay: $30 to $85 per hour.
• Time: Less than 20 hours per week.
• Location: Open to candidates in the countries listed for this role, including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, India, and Singapore.
• Language: Clear written English.
• Required experience: Hands-on experience reading and interpreting US SEC filings for public companies.
• Required knowledge: Familiarity with US GAAP and the ability to assess financial statements, footnotes, and tables.
• You should have strong attention to reporting periods, document versions, and supporting evidence.
• Relevant backgrounds include equity research, investment analysis, investment banking, corporate development, credit or restructuring analysis, SEC reporting, audit, corporate law, securities work, or financial due diligence.
