The role
OpenTrain AI is hiring an Excel Data Review Specialist to help train models using real-world business operations and strategy work in Excel. This contract, part-time role expects 20+ hours per week, and is open worldwide to English speakers.
Work will focus on evaluating and improving spreadsheets, producing templates and instructional materials, and generating examples and ratings that teach AI how experienced practitioners solve operational problems in Excel.

What you'll do
Your day-to-day work will combine hands-on Excel problem-solving with clear documentation and evaluative feedback used to train AI.
Review and improve complex Excel files tied to business operations, strategy, and data analysis.
Provide detailed feedback and examples of best practices for operational and consulting Excel use cases.
Design, document, and share templates or solutions for AI learning purposes.
Evaluate and simulate real-world business problems using advanced Excel functions, pivot tables, data validation, and automation tools.
Contribute to data analysis case studies and operational scenarios built around Excel expertise.
Document processes clearly and produce instructional materials and actionable feedback.
Requirements
Candidates must meet the core technical and communication requirements below. This role is listed at entry level but requires expert Excel skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Expert-level Microsoft Excel proficiency, including advanced functions, pivot tables, data validation, and automation tools.
Experience developing Excel solutions for business operations, strategy, or consulting environments.
Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex non-financial business problems with Excel.
Ability to document processes, create instructional materials, and give clear, actionable feedback.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English and comfort working independently remotely.
