The role
We are recruiting a Chemistry Document Review Specialist to support AI training projects focused on technical chemistry content. You will review and validate experimental write-ups, synthesis reports, technical analyses, chemical equations, datasets, and procedural steps, then produce clear explanations for both expert and non-expert audiences.
This is a contractor, part-time role. It is remote and open worldwide; English-language documentation and communication are required. Time commitment is 20+ hours per week. Compensation is hourly, paid in USD (pay range $20–$40/hr; listed hourly rate up to $40/hr). Tasks will include document review, content editing, text generation and evaluation ratings tied to chemistry material.

What you'll do
Your day-to-day work focuses on improving the quality and accuracy of chemistry content used for AI training. Tasks are a mix of hands-on review, written explanation, and structured feedback.
Review technical chemistry content for clarity, accuracy, and completeness
Edit and validate experimental write-ups, synthesis reports, and technical analyses
Write detailed explanations of chemistry concepts, mechanisms, and processes
Fact-check chemical equations, datasets, and procedural steps
Provide structured feedback on chemistry-related documentation and data
Collaborate with project coordinators through written and verbal communication
Help refine project guidelines using your subject-matter expertise
Requirements
You must have the subject-matter background and communication skills to evaluate technical chemistry materials and explain complex topics clearly.
BSc, MSc, or PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field (degree or equivalent subject-matter background required)
Experience producing or reviewing experimental write-ups, synthesis reports, or technical analyses
Strong command of chemical theory, laboratory techniques, and analytical methods
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
High attention to detail when reviewing scientific data and procedures
Ability to explain complex chemistry to both experts and non-experts
Remote or distributed collaboration experience is a plus
Helpful background

Experience with academic or industrial chemistry documentation
